The Oblates of Notre Dame (OND) is a Roman catholic religious congregation based in Cotabato City, Philippines. The congregation consists of 172 religious sisters as of January 2016.. They are known for their interfaith programs in Mindanao which caters to both Christians and Muslims. It was founded on November 10, 1956, in Cotabato City by two missionaries of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate who came to Manila in 1939: Fathers George Dion and Gerard Mongeau. The First Members were: Sr. Ma. Estrella Adre, OND, and Sr. Rosita Quijano, OND Their primary apostolate is pastoral catechesis. Many sisters are working as parish sisters and help in diocesan offices in various local parish churches. (NDEA) is a network of Notre Dame Schools in the Philippines, under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, owned and administered by: History It had its beginnings in 1941 when the Oblates Fathers, who had been asked by the Church to take over the ministry for the people of the then empire province of Cotabato, as well as the Sulu Archipelago, founded a school in Midsayap, which they named Notre Dame on the suggestion of Fr. Joseph Boyd, OMI. Hence, in July 1941, Notre Dame Academy, now known as Notre Dame of Midsayap College, in Midsayap opened its doors. Abuyog (IPA: ɐ'bujog, officially the Municipality of Abuyog ( war, Bungto han Abuyog; ceb, Lungsod sa Abuyog; tl, Bayan ng Abuyog), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 61,216 people. Facing Leyte Gulf out into the Philippine Sea, it is the largest town of the island of Leyte in terms of land area. In Christianity (especially in the Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican and Methodist traditions), an oblate is a person who is specifically dedicated to God or to God's service. Oblates are individuals, either laypersons or clergy, normally living in general society, who, while not professed monks or nuns, have individually affiliated themselves with a monastic community of their choice.
