Notobranchaea Tetrabranchiata
The Notobranchaeidae, or "naked sea butterflies", are a taxonomic family of floating sea slugs, specifically under the subclass Opistobranchia, also called " sea angels". Similar to other Pteropods, these pelagic marine heterobranch gastropod mollusks are holoplanktonic. Morphology While they are not particularly strong swimmers, the foot of these organisms is modified into wing-like structures, called parapodia that they employ for locomotion. Additionally, like other Pteropods of the order Gymnosomata, Notobrachaeidae lack shells entirely as adults.Pierrot-Bults, Annelies & Peijnenburg, K. (2015). Pteropods. Encyclopedia of marine geosciences. 1-10. However, they do possess a shell earlier on in their lives. They are also defined by how they possess a posterior gill, strong jaws, grasping tentacles that frequently possess suckers resembling those of cephalopods, and usually buccal cones as well. Behavior Like other members of the clade Gymnosomata, Notobrachaeidae are ...

Paul Pelseneer
Jean Paul Louis Pelseneer (Brussels, 26 June 1863 – Brussels, 5 May 1945)Adam W. (1946). "Paul Pelseneer 1863–1945". ''Proceedings of the Malacological Society of London'' 26(6): 149-151PDF was a Belgian malacologist, morphologist, ethologist and phylogenist. In 1880, at the age of seventeen, Pelseneer became a member of the Belgian Malacological Society. He studied at the University of Brussels and in 1884 he obtained his doctor's degree in natural sciences. He continued his studies with the French zoologist Alfred Mathieu Giard at the marine laboratory in Wimereux (Université Lille Nord de France), and concluded his studies with the English invertebrate zoologist Ray Lankester at University College London. Pelseneer then became a teacher of chemistry at the Normal School in Ghent. He devoted himself to zoology during his spare time, without having a laboratory at his disposal. Pelseneer became recognized in Belgium as well as abroad as one of the most eminent zoologists ...

Tropics
The tropics are the regions of Earth surrounding the Equator. They are defined in latitude by the Tropic of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere at N and the Tropic of Capricorn in the Southern Hemisphere at S. The tropics are also referred to as the tropical zone and the torrid zone (see geographical zone). In terms of climate, the tropics receive sunlight that is more direct than the rest of Earth and are generally hotter and wetter as they aren't affected as much by the solar seasons. The word "tropical" sometimes refers to this sort of climate in the zone rather than to the geographical zone itself. The tropical zone includes deserts and snow-capped mountains, which are not tropical in the climatic sense. The tropics are distinguished from the other climatic and biomatic regions of Earth, which are the middle latitudes and the polar regions on either side of the equatorial zone. The tropics constitute 40% of Earth's surface area and contain 36% of Earth's landmass. , the ...

Alice Pruvot-Fol
Alice Pruvot-Fol (4 August 1873 – 28 March 1972) was a French opisthobranch malacologist. She was the author of many new species, mostly described on the basis of preserved animals. She described a new species (''Nembrotha rutilans'', Pruvot-Fol, 1931) on the basis of a painted illustration in a book by William Saville-Kent (1893) entitled ''The Great Barrier Reef of Australia''. She continued working and naming new species until late in her life. Even in 1962, when she was 89 years old, she named ''Phyllidia pulitzeri''. Species Some of the species described by her: *'' Aldisa banyulensis'' Pruvot-Fol, 1951 *'' Aplysiopsis formosa'' Pruvot-Fol *'' Atagema gibba'' Pruvot-Fol *'' Atagema rugosa'' Pruvot-Fol, 1951 *'' Chelidonura africana'' Pruvot-Fol *'' Chromodoris kuniei'' Pruvot-Fol, 1930 *''Cumanotus cuenoti'' Pruvot-Fol, 1948 *'' Doriopsilla rarispinosa'' Pruvot-Fol, 1951 *''Elysia babai'' Pruvot-Fol, 1945 *'' Elysia mercieri'' Pruvot-Fol, 1930 *'' Facelina dubia'' Pru ...

Plankton
Plankton are the diverse collection of organisms found in Hydrosphere, water (or atmosphere, air) that are unable to propel themselves against a Ocean current, current (or wind). The individual organisms constituting plankton are called plankters. In the ocean, they provide a crucial source of food to many small and large aquatic organisms, such as bivalves, fish and whales. Marine plankton include bacteria, archaea, algae, protozoa and drifting or floating animals that inhabit the saltwater of oceans and the brackish waters of estuaries. Freshwater plankton are similar to marine plankton, but are found in the freshwaters of lakes and rivers. Plankton are usually thought of as inhabiting water, but there are also airborne versions, the aeroplankton, that live part of their lives drifting in the atmosphere. These include plant spores, pollen and wind-scattered seeds, as well as microorganisms swept into the air from terrestrial dust storms and oceanic plankton swept into the air ...
