All Pigs Must Die is an American metalcore Supergroup (music), supergroup consisting of Kevin Baker of The Hope Conspiracy, Ben Koller of Converge (band), Converge, Adam Wentworth and Matt Woods of Bloodhorse (band), Bloodhorse, and Brian Izzi of Trap Them. All Pigs Must Die is signed to Nonbeliever Records, an imprint label of Shirts & Destroy. History The band's debut EP, which was recorded at Kurt Ballou's GodCity Studio, was released in October 2010. The cover artwork was designed by German illustrator Florian Bertmer. In December 2010 the band began recording for their second release, again with Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studio. In March 2011, it was announced that their upcoming album would be titled ''God Is War'', and that the band had signed with Southern Lord. Aaron Turner
Aaron Turner (born November 5, 1977) is an American musician, singer, graphic artist, and founder of label Hydra Head Records. He is most widely known for his role as guitarist and vocalist for the post-metal bands SUMAC and Isis, while also participating in several other bands and projects such as Old Man Gloom, Lotus Eaters and Split Cranium, a collaboration with Jussi Lehtisalo of Finnish band Circle who toured with Isis in 2009. Raised in New Mexico, Turner moved to the Boston area, where he attended art school and formed Isis and Hydra Head. In June 2003, Turner moved operations of both the band and label to Los Angeles, California. Turner now resides in Vashon, WA which is also the base of operations for Hydra Head and his various other activities. Southern Lord is an American heavy metal record label that was founded in 1998 by Greg Anderson. It specialized in experimental metal: particularly doom metal, stoner rock, and drone metal. The label later expanded its line-up to include artists from black metal, hardcore punk and crust punk bands. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. Death growls and gang vocals are common. 1990s metalcore bands were inspired by hardcore while later metalcore bands were inspired by melodic death metal bands like At the Gates and In Flames.
