''Nothing Funny'' ( pl, Nic śmiesznego) is a 1995 Polish drama film directed by Marek Koterski. It is the third in a nine-part series of films about the character Adaś Miauczyński, created by Koterski. Each story showcases a different aspect or era of his life, often with little continuity between them. Synopsis In this period of his life, Adaś Miauczyński is a bumbling film director. A graduate of the Łódź Film School, Miauczyński feels professionally and personally unfulfilled. His career path has been marked by failure, and his first film is a flop. His continued search for the woman of his life proves futile, something he is reminded of each time his work colleague Maciej sleeps with a woman Miauczyński goes on a date with. When his ex-wife, Beata, with whom he still lives but who despises him, together with their daughter, orchestrates a mock kidnapping and execution, Miauczyński suffers a fatal heart attack. The Gdynia Film Festival (until 2011: Polish Film Festival, Polish: ''Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych w Gdyni'') is an annual film festival first held in Gdańsk (1974–1986), now held in Gdynia, Poland. Marek Koterski
Marek Koterski (born 3 June 1942) is a Polish film and theatre director, screenwriter, actor, and playwright. In 1972, he graduated in directing from the Łódź Film School. Initially, he made documentaries, but in 1984, he gained recognition in Poland thanks to the semi-autobiographical tragicomedy ''Dom wariatów''. This was the first of nine films Koterski went on to write and direct about his alter ego, the character Adaś Miauczyński. Several of these, including the 1986 sequel to ''Dom wariatów'', titled ''Życie wewnętrzne''; the sixth and seventh films in the loose series, titled ''Day of the Wacko'' (2002) and ''We're All Christs'' (2006), respectively; and the final one, ''7 uczuć'' (2018), won accolades. Adaś Miauczyński
Adaś Miauczyński is a fictional character created by Marek Koterski. He has featured in a series of films and stage works as well as a musical. Adaś (in two films, he is presented as Michał Miauczyński) is a Polish man whose first name, Adaś, is a diminutive form of Adam, while Miauczyński is a wordplay derived from "meow", a sound produced by cats. He is a vulgar, neurotic, and frustrated intellectual who either lives alone or with his ex-wife, and sometimes with his children. The Leon Schiller National Film School ( pl, Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa, Telewizyjna i Teatralna im. Leona Schillera) is a Polish academy for future actors, directors, photographers, camera operators and television staff. It was founded on 8 March 1948 in Łódź (Lodz). Maciej Kozlowski (8 September 1957 – 11 May 2010) was a Polish actor, mostly known for his roles in ''Kingsajz'', ''Psy'', ''Kiler'', ''With Fire and Sword'' and ''Schindler's List'' and the TV series ''M jak miłość''.
