''Not Here / Not Now'' is a limited-edition double live album by American post-punk band, Swans. It was announced for sale on October 14, 2013, via Young God Records. The profits earned from this album were used to fund the band's subsequent album, '' To Be Kind''. Background The live album, which consists of 2000 copies, was primarily recorded during the band's appearance at Primavera Sound 2013 festival in Barcelona, with closer "Nathalie Neal" taken from their show in Melbourne earlier that year. It features live versions of ''The Seer'', a live version of "Coward" from their 1986 album '' Holy Money'', new unrecorded songs, and two "crude acoustic demos of songs for the upcoming studio album". The cover art, which was drawn by artist Nicole Boitos, was uniquely "further drawn upon, personalized and signed by Michael Gira" for each copy. Kristof Hahn
Kristof Hahn (also known as Christoph Hahn) (born 6 February 1959) is a German guitarist., composer and translator. Hahn is best known for his lap-steel guitar playing in the New York experimental rock band Swans. He joined the band in 1989 for the Burning World tour and played on the subsequent album ''White Light from the Mouth of Infinity''. He left the band in 1992, joined Swans’ bandleader Michael Gira’s follow-up project Angels of Light in 1998 and became a constant member of the Swans relaunch from 2010 until 2017. His approach to the lap-steel guitar is less rooted in traditions but more drone-oriented, creating vast soundscapes that at times erupt into sonic thunderstorms and at other times resolve into ethereal melodies. Angels Of Light
Angels of Light were an American folk band that was formed circa 1998 by singer-songwriter and musician Michael Gira after he disbanded Swans, the group he had founded in 1982. The band has marked a distinctly different style for Gira since he left Swans, most noticeably being musically more melodic and less brutal than his previous efforts and with emphasis on acoustic instruments and folk and country influences. Before the band was formed, Gira intended to call his post-Swans acoustic/song-based project The Pleasure Seekers. This name was discarded because there had been a group with the same name in the 1960s. The first two live performances of what would become the Angels of Light (the Tonic/Bowery Ballroom benefit shows) were billed as "Michael Gira with guests".
