Norwich City Women FC
Norwich City Women is the women's football club affiliated to Norwich City F.C. Previously operated by a board of volunteers, Norwich City FC formally integrated the women's side into the club in February 2022. Norwich City appointed former footballer Flo Allen (footballer) as general manager of the women's side in June 2022. Shaun Howes is the current manager, having been appointed to that post in May 2020. Norwich City Women compete in the FA Women's National League South East Division One, in the fourth tier of English women's football. According to Norwich City, "they are the official women's team of Norwich City Football Club". Norwich City Women play their home games at The Nest. Flo Allen (footballer)
Florence Allen (born 13 August 1999) is an English former footballer who played in the defender position for Bristol City. She has represented England on the under-17 national team. She is currently the General Manager of Norwich City Women. Early life Allen was raised on her family's farm in Norfolk and began playing football at the age of 6. At the age of 16, she moved to Bristol to pursue her dream of becoming a professional footballer. Playing career Bristol City, 2016–2022 Allen signed with Bristol City in January 2016 ahead of the 2016 FA WSL season. She made 11 appearances for the team and helped secure a second-place result with a record and promotion to FA WSL 1. Allen was sidelined during the 2018–19 season due to a long term hip injury. The FA Women's National League, formerly WFA National League and FA Women's Premier League (WPL), is a group of six football divisions run by the English Football Association. Founded in 1991 by the Women's Football Association, the League included England's top division from 1991 to 2010. The League now sits at step 3 and 4 of the women's football pyramid (below the FA Women's Super League and the Women's Championship). The Women's FA Challenge Cup Competition is the top annual cup tournament for women's clubs in English football. Founded in 1970, it has been named the WFA Cup, FA Women's Cup and now Women's FA Cup (Vitality Women's FA Cup for sponsorship reasons). Designed as an equivalent to the FA Cup in men's football, the competition began in 1970–71 as the Mitre Challenge Trophy, organised by the Women's Football Association (WFA).
