Norwegian Golf Federation
The Norwegian Golf Federation ( no, Norges Golfforbund, NGF) is the governing body for the sport of golf in Norway. The NGF was founded in 1948 after an initiative from Bergen GK, Høsbjør GK, Borregaard GK and Oslo GK. It organizes around 100,000 memberships, making it the fifth largest federation in Norwegian sports. Members are spread across around 180 golf clubs, and as of 2020 all Norwegian golf clubs but one were organized by the NGF. The NGF manages the national golf teams, the national golf championships, and maintains the Rules of Golf in Norwegian. NGF is a member of the European Golf Association (EGA). The PGA Tour (stylized in all capital letters as PGA TOUR by its officials) is the organizer of professional golf tours in the United States and North America. Ladies Norwegian Open
The Ladies Norwegian Open is a professional golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour and featured on the LET Access Series schedule in 2015 and 2016. Highlights The 2015 edition saw a record-breaking 14-hole sudden-death playoff between Johanna Gustavsson of Sweden and Natalia Escuriola of Spain. Both players recorded an opening bogey on the first playoff hole, the 368 yard par-4 9th at Larvik Golf Club, which they played three times before alternating between the 1st and 9th holes until the 10th extra hole. They then moved back to the 9th hole until Gustavsson was able to break the deadlock on the 14th extra hole with a birdie three. In 2016, the final day featured a special format, as it was played alongside the men's Norwegian Open over the Skjeberg course. ALPG Tour
The WPGA Tour of Australasia, formerly known as the ALPG Tour, is a professional golf tour for women which is based in Australia. WPGA stands for Women's Professional Golfers' Association. The tour was founded as the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Australia (LPGAA) in 1972 by Alan Gillott, who also later on founded ''The Golfer'' newspaper, a free publication provided to golfers and golf clubs, Australia-wide. The LPGAA switched to ALPG Tour in 1991. The first events featured twelve competitors, and the early years were a struggle. However the long-term trend was of gradual expansion and by 2004 there were over 150 members. The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1978. It is based at Buckinghamshire Golf Club near London in England. Like many UK-based sports organisations it is a company limited by guarantee, a legal structure which enables it to focus on maximising returns to its members through prize money, rather than on making profits for investors. Marianne Skarpnord
Marianne Skarpnord (born 11 February 1986) is a Norwegian professional golfer playing on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career As a junior, Skarpnord was considered one of the biggest talents in Norwegian golf. In 2003, she won the Girls Amateur Championship, defeating Beatriz Recari of Spain in the final match. She also won the Junior Solheim Cup with Europe the same year. Skarpnord made a 6 footer to secure the win for the European team. In 2004, she finished 3rd in the British Girls Championship.
