Norway In The Eurovision Young Musicians
Norway has participated in the biennial classical music competition Eurovision Young Musicians 19 times since its debut in 1982, winning the contest for the first time in 2012. Norway did not officially take part in 1984, the only contest the country has missed as of 2022. It hosted the contest in 2000 and will do so again in . In and , Norway alongside , and sent a joint participant to the contest. The nations were represented individually, following the introduction of a preliminary round, at the 1986 contest. Eurovision Young Musicians 1982
The Eurovision Young Musicians 1982 was the first edition of the Eurovision Young Musicians, a biennial event inspired by the success of the BBC Young Musician of the Year. The contest took place at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester, United Kingdom on 11 May 1982, and was organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). Musicians from six participating countries took part in début contest, which was televised across the Eurovision Network. Humphrey Burton was the host of the contest and welcomed all of the participants in English, French, and German. Each of the six participating countries sent either a male or female artist who was no older than 19 years of age, to represent them by playing an instrumental and a musical piece of their choice, and were accompanied by the BBC Northern Symphony Orchestra, under the conductor leadership of Bryden Thomson. Eldbjørg Hemsing
Eldbjørg Hemsing (born 16 February 1990 in Nord-Aurdal, Norway) is a Norwegian violinist who has been since the age of 11, with her solo debut with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. She premiered several works by Tan Dun. She lives in Berlin. She is the younger sister of Norwegian violinist Ragnhild Hemsing. Biography Eldbjørg Hemsing was born in Valdres, Norway in 1990. She started playing the violin at the age of five. By the age of six, Hemsing was playing violin for the Norwegian Royal Family. At the age of seven, she was accepted into the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo where she received lessons from Alf Richard Kraggerud and Stephan Barratt-Due. Tine Thing Helseth ( ; ; born 18 August 1987) is a Norwegian trumpet soloist specializing in classical repertoire. Career Helseth was born in Oslo. Vilde Frang Bjærke (born 19 August 1986) is a Norway, Norwegian classical music, classical violinist. Early life and education Born in Oslo, Norway, Frang began playing the violin by the Suzuki method at the age of four. In the years 1993–2002 she studied with Stephan Barratt-Due, Alf Richard Kraggerud and Henning Kraggerud at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo. Frang made her soloist debut at the age of ten with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. In 1998 she was introduced to Anne-Sophie Mutter, who became her mentor and later appointed her a scholarship holder in the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. She was aged twelve in 1999 when Mariss Jansons engaged her as a soloist with the Oslo Philharmonic. Kristian Ladewig Lindberg (born 14 February 1994) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a left winger. Club career Nordsjælland Lindberg joined Nordsjælland as a 14-year-old from Hvidovre IF.
