Northwest Oregon Conference
The Northwest Oregon Conference (NWOC) is a 5A level classification that falls under the Oregon School Activities Association or the OSAA. The conference was created in 2006 when the OSAA restructured its conference system, expanding from 4 levels to 6. Schools at the 5A level had previously competed at the 4A or 3A level. Oregon School Activities Association
The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) is a non-profit, board-governed organization that regulates high school athletics and competitive activities via athletic conferences in the U.S. state of Oregon, providing equitable competition among its members, both public and private. The OSAA is based in Wilsonville. History Originally created in 1918 as the "Oregon State High School Athletic Association", the name changed to the "Oregon School Activities Association", or OSAA, in 1947. Currently, the OSAA sponsors seventy-four state championships in nineteen interscholastic activities including athletics, music, and forensics and is a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations. Milwaukie is a city mostly in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States; a very small portion of the city extends into Multnomah County. The population was 20,291 at the 2010 census. Founded in 1847 on the banks of the Willamette River, the city, known as the Dogwood City of the West, was incorporated in 1903 and is the birthplace of the Bing cherry. The city is now a suburb of Portland and also adjoins the unincorporated areas of Clackamas and Oak Grove. History Milwaukie was settled in 1847 and formally platted in 1849 as a rival to the upriver Oregon City by Lot Whitcomb, who named it for Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the time, the Wisconsin city was also frequently spelled "Milwaukie" before the current spelling was adopted. Wilsonville High School
Wilsonville High School is a four-year suburban, public high school in Wilsonville, Oregon, United States. Part of the West Linn-Wilsonville School district, Wilsonville HS opened in 1995 and has grown steadily to its current population of just over 1200 students. It offers a wide variety of academic programs, sports, and extracurricular activities as well as a thriving art program. The student body makeup is 52 percent male and 48 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 26 percent. This is the first and only high school in Wilsonville. Rex Putnam High School (often Putnam High School) is a public high school in Milwaukie, Oregon, United States. History The school was named after former Oregon Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Rex Putnam. Rex Putnam has been an International Baccalaureate school since the spring of 2008. As such, the school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to its Juniors and Seniors. Approximately 46% of the Junior class and 40% of the Senior class is enrolled in one or more IB courses as of 2010. Rex Putnam is the only North Clackamas high school that houses the IB Programme. Colleges and Universities around the world recognize the IB Programme and it is a very high honor to complete it. Parkrose High School is a public high school in Portland, Oregon, United States. It is the only high school in the Parkrose School District. Academics In 2008, 72% of the school's seniors received a high school diploma. Milwaukie High School
Milwaukie High School is a public high school located in Milwaukie, Oregon, United States. It is one of seven high schools within the North Clackamas School District. The school's mascot is the mustang, and its colors are maroon and gold. History Milwaukie High School dates back to 1907. The first building was replaced in 1925. The current Gym was rebuilt following the Columbus Day storm in 1962. The 1925 structure was deemed unsafe therefore it was demolished in 2018, and rebuilt in the same location with a similar footprint painted in the classic North Clackamas Grey and Tan.
