Northwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility
Northwestern Joint Regional Correctional Facility (NWJRCF) was a Level II correctional activity with facility operations in Fort Lewis, Washington and Submarine Base Bangor, Washington. NWJRCF reports directly to the United States Army Corrections Command in Alexandria, Virginia. Mission statement The Northwestern Joint Regional Correctional Facility provides custody/control, education and vocational opportunities as well as behavioral mental health programs of prisoners in an effort to assist their transition back into the civilian community or return to duty. On order, prepare individual soldiers to deploy and conduct full-spectrum operations. Fort Lewis (Washington)
Fort Lewis was a United States Army post from 1917 to 2010 located south-southwest of Tacoma, Washington. Fort Lewis was merged with McChord Air Force Base on 1 February 2010 to form Joint Base Lewis–McChord. Naval Submarine Base Bangor is a former submarine base of the United States Navy that was merged with Naval Station Bremerton into Naval Base Kitsap in 2004. History The Naval Support Base Bangor's naval history began in 1942 when it became a site for shipping ammunition to the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. 42nd Military Police Brigade (United States)
The 42nd Military Police Brigade is a military police brigade of the United States Army based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington. It is a subordinate unit of I Corps. First activated as a customs unit in post-World War II Germany, the brigade has a long history with United States Army Europe. Its duties as a customs unit meant that the unit was garrisoned in Germany for over forty years from 1950 until 1990, never seeing action in the U.S. operations of the Korean War, Vietnam War, or the Persian Gulf War.
