Northwest Allen County Schools
Northwest Allen County Schools is a public school district that serves Lake, Eel River, and Perry Townships in Allen County, Indiana. It is commonly referred to as NACS because of its respective initials. History The school district was organized in 1965 by the virtue of the consolidation of Eel River-Perry Consolidated School and Lake Township School. The first school was Carroll High School, built in 1967. Governing The schools are governed by a five-member non-partisan school board. Since the 1965 official organization of the district, there have only been a total of 27 board members serve a position. Members are elected at the time of the May primary in alternate years with one representative from each of the townships and two at-large representatives. The Board employs a superintendent of schools as its chief executive officer to administer its operational policies. Huntertown, Indiana
Huntertown is a town in Allen County, Indiana. The population was 9,141 at the time of the 2020 census, making it one of the fastest-growing areas in northeastern Indiana, with a population increase of 90 percent since 2010. History Huntertown was originally called "The Opening" because it was a natural forest clearing. Huntertown was first settled ''circa'' 1837, founded by William T. Hunter. Arcola, Indiana
Arcola is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Lake Township, Allen County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population of the community is only 33. Once a booming train station for farm products and a regional U.S. postal center in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in more recent years it has become a bedroom community of Fort Wayne. Carroll High School is a school in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States. It is part of the Northwest Allen County Schools and is accredited by the North Central Association. History Indiana school reorganization The Indiana General Assembly passed the Indiana School Reorganization Act of 1959, which required school districts with fewer than 2,000 students to consolidate with nearby districts. Summit Athletic Conference (IHSAA)
The Summit Athletic Conference, or SAC, is a high school athletic conference consisting of ten high schools located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Three of the schools are private; one being a Lutheran academy, and the other two being Catholic preparatories. The rest are public schools, being part of Fort Wayne Community Schools.
