Northumberland—Peterborough South
Northumberland—Peterborough South (french: Northumberland—Peterborough-Sud) is a federal electoral district in Ontario. Northumberland—Peterborough South was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for 19 October 2015. 77% of the riding was formed from Northumberland—Quinte West, 13% from Durham and 10% from Peterborough. The riding was originally intended to be named Northumberland—Pine Ridge. Geography The riding is located in Central Ontario along Lake Ontario. It contains the entirety of Northumberland County, southern Peterborough and the eastern half of the municipality of Clarington. Trent Hills
The Municipality of Trent Hills is a township municipality in Northumberland County, Ontario, Northumberland County in Central Ontario, Canada. It is on the Trent River (Ontario), Trent River and was created in 2001 through the amalgamation of the municipalities of Campbellford/Seymour, Percy Township and Hastings. Thereafter it was known in brief as Campbellford/Seymour, Percy, Hastings. 2011 Canadian Federal Election
The 2011 Canadian federal election was held on May 2, 2011, to elect members to the House of Commons of Canada of the 41st Canadian Parliament. The writs of election for the 2011 election were issued by Governor General David Johnston on March 26. Prime Minister Stephen Harper advised the Governor General to dissolve parliament after the House of Commons passed a motion of non-confidence against the government, finding it to be in contempt of Parliament. Kim Rudd
Kim Elizabeth Rudd (November 18, 1957 – March 12, 2024) was a Canadian politician and businesswoman. She was elected a Member of Parliament for Northumberland – Peterborough South in 2015 and served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources from 2015 to 2018. Rudd was a past president and owner of Willis College in Cobourg, Ontario, a former owner of Cook's Day School, and a past president of the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce. Peterborough County is located in Southern Ontario, Canada. The county seat is Peterborough, which is independent of the county. The southern section of the county is mix of agriculture, urban and lakefront properties. Peterborough (electoral District)
Peterborough () is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, east of England. It is the largest part of the City of Peterborough unitary authority district (which covers a larger area than Peterborough itself). It was part of Northamptonshire until 1974, when county boundary change meant the city became part of Cambridgeshire instead. Durham (electoral District)
Durham (formerly known as Clarington—Scugog—Uxbridge) is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 1968 and since 1988. Its first iteration was created in 1903 from Durham East and Durham West ridings. It consisted of the county of Durham. Northumberland—Quinte West was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 2004 to 2013. Its population in 2001 was 118,906. Following the Canadian federal electoral redistribution, 2012, the electoral district was dissolved into the ridings of Northumberland—Peterborough South and Bay of Quinte.
