Northgate, Chester
The Northgate is in Chester, Cheshire, England, where it carries the city walls footpath over Northgate Street (). It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. History The present Northgate stands on the site of the original northern Roman entrance to Chester. During the medieval period, it was unimportant and it was used only for local access. At that time it consisted of a simple rectangular tower with a narrow gateway. It later was the site of the local gaol. The present Northgate was built in 1810 to replace a medieval gatehouse and was designed by Thomas Harrison for Chester City Council. Architecture It is built in pale red sandstone ashlar and consists of a segmental arch with a coffered soffit which spans the carriageway. Northgate, North Dakota
Northgate is an unincorporated community in Burke County, North Dakota, United States. The community is adjacent to the U.S. border with Canada, and it shares its name with the neighboring Canadian settlement of Northgate, Saskatchewan. The community is served by North Dakota Highway 8. Northgate had its own post office until 1985. The former Port of Entry building was razed in 2014–2015 for unknown reasons. Almost all of Northgate, Saskatchewan, was razed in 2013–2014 to make room for an extension of the Canadian National Railway. Chester Northgate is a former railway station in Chester, Cheshire, England, that was a terminus for the Cheshire Lines Committee and Great Central Railway. It was the city centre's second station (with Chester General) with regular services to , and . Northgate is a light rail and bus station in the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is the northern terminus of the 1 Line on Sound Transit's Link light rail system. The transit center, located adjacent to the Northgate Mall (now named Northgate Station), has four bus bays served by 22 routes. The station also has parking for 1,525 vehicles. The transit center opened in June 1992 as a major hub for North Seattle buses and was prioritized as a light rail terminus during planning later in the decade. Construction on the light rail extension to Northgate began in 2012 and station construction began in 2017.
