Northerns Cricket Union
Northerns (formerly North Eastern Transvaal and Northern Transvaal) has played first-class cricket in South Africa since December 1937. Its territory is the area north of Johannesburg, and it includes Pretoria. For the purposes of the SuperSport Series, Northerns has merged with Easterns (formerly Eastern Transvaal) to form the Titans. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. A significant omission of the ICC ruling was any attempt to define first-class cricket retrospectively. SuperSport Park
Centurion Park is a cricket ground in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa. It is also known as SuperSport Park since television company Supersport bought shares in the stadium. The capacity of the ground is 22,000. The Titans cricket team have played most of their home games here since 2004. The ground was home to the Titans' predecessor team Northerns (previously ''Northern Transvaal'') since 1986. Name The town of ''Verwoerdburg'' was renamed ''Centurion'' at the end of apartheid, with the politically neutral new name of the town coming from that of the cricket ground. Corbin Bosch
Corbin Bosch (born 10 September 1994) is a South African cricketer. He played in the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He is the son of South African former cricketer Tertius Bosch. Career Bosch made his first-class debut for Titans in the 2017–18 Sunfoil Series on 28 September 2017. Bongumusa Sibonelo Makhanya (born 7 March 1996) is a South African cricketer. He was part of South Africa U19 team for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Neil Brand (born 12 April 1996) is a South African cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox bowler. He initially moved to King's College, Taunton, with a hope to qualify to play for the England cricket team, before returning to South Africa at the end of 2017. Abdu Dayyaan Galiem (born 2 January 1997) is a South African cricketer who plays for Western Province. Galiem was born in Cape Town, and educated at Rondebosch Boys High School. Playing as an all-rounder, he made his debut for Western Province in September 2015, playing against Easterns in the Africa T20 Cup. Cricket South Africa
Cricket South Africa (CSA) is the governing body for both professional and amateur cricket in South Africa. In 1991, the separate South African Cricket Union and the South African Cricket Board merged to form the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB), ending enforced racial separation governance in South African cricket.
