Northern State Conference (IHSAA)
The Northern State Conference is a newly reformed conference that has existed since 1954. The conference went through many changes in membership and ultimately dissolved in 2015 when all of its members left for other conferences. Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, the conference will be reformed with six new schools: Bremen, Jimtown, John Glenn, Knox, LaVille, and Tippecanoe Valley. The earlier NSC lasted from 1954 to 1963, including schools from Carroll, Elkhart, Jasper, Marshall, Newton, St. Joseph, and Starke counties. Jimtown was the only holdover from the earlier conference into the modern one, though Bremen and Knox did join the current version in the 1980s. In 2013, Culver and Knox announced that they would be leaving the conference after the 2014–2015 school year in order to join the Hoosier North Athletic Conference with three schools from the Midwest Conference and Independent North Judson. Bremen High School (Indiana)
Bremen Senior High School is a public high school located in Bremen, Indiana. It opened in 1901. History Bremen has had four different school buildings. The first one was a wood frame building on the north side of town at the corner of Montgomery and Bike. It then got replaced with a brick building on the same lot. In 1939, a new high school was built at a cost of $250,000. In 1962 the present high school was built. Sixteen years later in 1978, the high school was expanded to include a media center, auditorium, choir and band center, swimming pool, and additional gymnasium. Athletics Bremen has a football team dating back to the early 1900's but it was discontinued in 1907 due to risk of serious injuries. The School added football again in 1954. The Bremen football team won the State Championship in 1989(A) and 1994(AA). The softball team won state in 2019(AA). Kosciusko County ( ) is a county in the U.S. state of Indiana. At the 2020 United States Census, its population was 80,240. The county seat (and only incorporated city) is Warsaw. Lakeville is a town south of South Bend in Union Township, St. Joseph County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 786 at the 2010 Census. It is part of the South Bend–Mishawaka metropolitan area. History The area of Lakeville was first settled by Euro-Americans in 1836. The railroad in 1845 spurred further growth. Jimtown High School is located in Elkhart, Indiana, United States. It is in Baugo Township, and a part of the Baugo Community Schools system. Athletics The Jimtown football team has won four state titles (1991-1992, 1997-1998, 1998-1999, and 2005-2006).
