Northern Nevada 3A Region
The Northern Nevada 3A Region is a part of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) is the governing body of athletic programs for high schools in the state of Nevada. In addition, five schools in the state of California (Coleville, Needles, North Tahoe, South Tahoe, and Tru ..., governing the northern half of Nevada for high school athletics. The Northern 3A league is the 2nd largest school level, which has schools with enrollments of 461 to 1200. As of the 2018–2019 school year, there are 10 member schools in the Northern 3A league. Elko High School, South Tahoe High School, and Churchill County High School moved down from the Northern 4A beginning the 2010–2011 school year and at the start of the 2018–2019 school year, North Valleys High School moved down from the Northern 4A to the Northern 3A. Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association
The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) is the governing body of athletic programs for high schools in the state of Nevada. In addition, five schools in the state of California (Coleville, Needles, North Tahoe, South Tahoe, and Truckee) and one from Arizona (Beaver Dam) are also members as the schools are geographically isolated from other in-state schools. It is a non-profit organization founded in 1922 as the Nevada Interscholastic League and became affiliated with the National Federation of State High School Associations in 1939. The league changed its name to the current form in 1967. The NIAA governs eligibility of student athletes, resolves disputes, organizes levels of competition by divisional separation of schools according to attendance population, and conducts state championship competitions in all the NIAA-sanctioned sports. Elko High School
Elko High School (EHS) is a public secondary school in Elko, Nevada, in the United States. It is part of the Elko County School District. The school's mascot is the Indian and its colors are maroon and white. Its marching band, the Elko High School Marching Band, is known as the "Pride of Nevada." History Elko High School was established in 1895 as the first county public school in Nevada. Elko High School's old gymnasium stands on the site of the first University of Nevada. The University of Nevada in Elko was open from October 12, 1874 to July 10, 1885. Other than a few memories, all that remains of the first University of Nevada is a street called College Avenue. North Valleys High School
North Valleys High School is located in north Reno, Nevada. NVHS belongs to the Washoe County School District. It was built in 2001 and currently has a student body of roughly 2,250 students. North Valleys competes in the Northern Nevada 3A Region for athletics. Truckee, California
Truckee is an incorporated town in Nevada County, California, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 16,180, reflecting an increase of 2,316 from the 13,864 counted in the 2000 Census and having the 316th highest population in California and 2114th in the United States. Name Truckee's existence began in 1863 as Gray's Station, named for Joseph Gray's Roadhouse on the trans-Sierra wagon road. A blacksmith named Samuel S. Fallon, Nevada
Fallon is a city in Churchill County in the U.S. state of Nevada. The population was 9,327 at time of the 2020 census. Fallon is the county seat of Churchill County and is located in the Lahontan Valley. History The community was first populated during the California Gold Rush, because multiple would-be Forty-niners stopped after crossing the Carson River. The town and post office were established on July 24, 1896, in a little shack belonging to Michael Fallon and Eliza Fallon, who operated a ranch at the site. Spring Creek is a census-designated place (CDP) in central Elko County, in northeastern Nevada in the western United States. It mainly serves as a bedroom community for the businesses and industries in and around the nearby city of Elko. It is part of the Elko Micropolitan Statistical Area. Sparks is a city in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. It was founded in 1904, incorporated on March 15, 1905, and is located just east of Reno.
