Northern Arizona Lumberjacks Women's Soccer
The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks are the varsity athletic teams representing Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona in intercollegiate athletics. The school's mascot was adopted in 1946. The Lumberjacks compete in NCAA Division I and are full members of the Big Sky Conference with the exception of the women's swimming and diving team which is an affiliate member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Sports sponsored Individual teams Men's Basketball The school's team has competed in the Big Sky Conference since 1970. The team's most recent appearance in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was in 2000. The Lumberjacks are currently led by interim head coach Shane Burcar who replaced Jack Murphy. Northern Arizona University
Northern Arizona University (NAU) is a public research university based in Flagstaff, Arizona. It was founded in 1899 as the final public university established in the Arizona Territory, 13 years before Arizona was admitted as the 48th state. NAU is one of the three universities governed by the Arizona Board of Regents and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. NCAA Men's Division I Cross Country Championship
The NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Championship is the cross country championship held by the National Collegiate Athletic Association each autumn for individual men's runners and cross country teams from universities in Division I. Teams and individual runners qualify for the championship at regional competitions approximately a week before the national championships. Northern Arizona are the defending men's team champions. USTA Tennis On Campus
Tennis on Campus (TOC) is the national collegiate club tennis league operated by the United States Tennis Association (USTA). The league is played on hard courts in World TeamTennis format. 370 colleges throughout the 15 USTA geographical sections nationwide compete in the league. The league's regular season takes place in the fall and spring along with four major tournaments, culminating with the National Championship in Orlando, Florida. Competition format The regular season games are played in tournaments which are hosted by individual universities at their campus tennis facilities or a local tennis center. The matches are played in mixed gender World TeamTennis format which features four separate brackets in tournaments; copper, bronze, silver, and gold in a pool play system. American Collegiate Hockey Association
The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) is a college ice hockey association. The ACHA's purpose is to be an organization of collegiate affiliated non-varsity programs, which provides structure, regulates operations, and promotes quality in collegiate ice hockey. The ACHA currently has three men's and two women's divisions and includes approximately 450 teams from across the United States. Teams offer few athletic scholarships and typically receive far less university funding. The ACHA offers an opportunity for college hockey programs that struggle with large budgets and Title IX issues, as an alternative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) financial structure. Anna Söderberg
Anna Söderberg (born 11 June 1973 in Knista) is a female discus thrower from Sweden. Her personal best throw of 64.54 metres, achieved in July 1999 in Aremark, is the Swedish record for the event. She has represented her country at the Olympic Games on three occasions – in 2000, 2004 and 2008. She has also competed at the World Championships in Athletics, taking part in every edition from 1997 to 2009 with the sole exception of the 2001 World Championships. Johanna Nilsson
Johanna Nilsson (27 March 1983 – 25 June 2013) was a Swedish middle- and long-distance runner. She was a bronze medallist at the European Cross Country Championships in 2005. Despite an early retirement in 2006 she had a highly successful collegiate career in the United States, winning three NCAA indoor titles and winning the NCAA Women's Division I Cross Country Championship in 2005. Her sister, Ida Nilsson, was also an international distance runner. Career A native of Kalmar, Sweden, she competed in running competitions at young age. Her sister, Ida Nilsson, also competed internationally for Sweden. Ida Nilsson
Ida Nilsson (born February 8, 1981) is a Swedish long-distance runner who also competes in ski mountaineering. In 2003 – 2006 she won a total of ten gold medals in Swedish championships in track & field and cross country running, plus two NCAA gold medals. After many years away from training Nilsson won the Swedish championship in ski mountaineering in 2016 and a couple of months later won the prestigious Transvulcania ultramarathon. Childhood and youth Nilsson hails from Kalmar in the flat southern Sweden. She grew up in a sports family where both her father Carl-Gustaf ”Calle” and mother Katarina competed at an elite level. Angela Chalmers (born September 6, 1963) is a Canadian retired track and field athlete who competed in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres. Abdihamid Nur (born October 14, 1998) is an American long-distance runner. Nur set a United States collegiate record in the 5000 meters at the Sound Running Track Meet in May 2022 breaking Henry Rono's 5000 m record from 1978. Nur placed 11th in the 5000 metres Final at the 2022 World Athletics Championships after finishing third at the 2022 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Andy Trouard
Andy Trouard is a professional American Distance runner who competes in the 5000m for the Oregon Track Club Elite and has a personal best in the event of 13:21.07. In 2018, he won the NCAA Division I National Championship in the 3000m, won two team NCAA national championships in Cross Country with Northern Arizona University in 2016 and in 2017, and is an NCAA All-American in Track and Field. David McNeill (runner)
David McNeill (born 6 October 1986 in East Melbourne) is an Australian long-distance runner. He was selected for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, McNeill finished 8th in his heat of the Men's 5000m in a time of 13:39.97. He was therefore eliminated. Early years McNeill was just 10-years-old when he started cross-country running. He had a natural ability and decided to focus on long-distance running full-time. He made his international debut in 2004 at the Commonwealth Youth (U18) Games running in the 3000m. Lopez Lomong
Lopez Lomong (born January 5, 1985) is a South Sudanese-born American track and field athlete. Lomong, one of the Lost Boys of Sudan, came to the United States at the age of 16 and became a U.S. citizen in 2007. Lomong qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 1500 meters at the United States Olympic track and field trials in Eugene, Oregon. He was the flag bearer for the United States during the 2008 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony.
