Andy Trouard
Andy Trouard is a professional American Distance runner who competes in the 5000m for the Oregon Track Club Elite and has a personal best in the event of 13:21.07. In 2018, he won the NCAA Division I National Championship in the 3000m, won two team NCAA national championships in Cross Country with Northern Arizona University in 2016 and in 2017, and is an NCAA All-American in Track and Field. High school Junior year After competing in swimming and winning two state titles, Trouard decided to go out for Track & Field his junior year, his first time competitively running for his high school. During the season, he would win three state individual titles and quickly become one of the best runners in the state and still had a long way to develop as a runner. Oregon Track Club
The Oregon Track Club (OTC) is an American running organization based in Eugene, Oregon. History Emerald Empire Athletic Association Formed by Bill Bowerman, the Emerald Empire Athletic Association (EEAA) was the predecessor to the Oregon Track Club. In 1948, Bill Bowerman became the assistant track coach at the University of Oregon, in Eugene, Oregon. In order to spur interest in running with the local community, Bowerman formed an all comers meet for grade-schoolers in 1949. The next year the meet was expanded to include high school and college athletes. The low turnout of the all comers meet caused Bowerman to want to increase his efforts in promoting track and field in Eugene. In 1958, with the help of Ray Hendrickson and Bob Newland, Bowerman established the Emerald Empire Athletic Association. Northern Arizona University (NAU) is a public research university based in Flagstaff, Arizona. It was founded in 1899 as the final public university established in the Arizona Territory, 13 years before Arizona was admitted as the 48th state. Salpointe Catholic High School
Salpointe Catholic High School is a co-ed Catholic high school in Tucson, Arizona run by the Carmelite Order. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson. History Salpointe Catholic High School is named for Arizona's first Bishop, Jean-Baptiste Salpointe, who worked as a missionary in the Arizona Territory from 1866 to 1885. In the late 1940s, Tucson's parochial grammar schools had nine grades. The desire to build a Catholic high school for these graduates prompted the Diocese of Tucson to purchase the Florence Addition. Salpointe Catholic High School began in 1950 as a modest school consisting of what is now the Farr Patio and cafeteria. On the first day of school, Salpointe opened its doors to 100 students. Sean McGorty
Sean McGorty (born March 8, 1995) is an American runner who specializes in middle-distance and long-distance events. He ran for the United States at the 2014 NACAC Cross Country Championships, where he won the junior men's race. He competed in NCAA Cross Country and Track & Field for Stanford University. Upon graduation, he joined the Bowerman Track Club, which trained in Portland, Oregon until 2022 when the team moved to Eugene, Oregon. Running career High school McGorty attended Chantilly High School in Fairfax, Virginia. Before high school, he tried various sports, but ended up running cross country and track for his high school. In his freshman year of cross country, he recorded 16:26 in a 5K race. At the 2013 Penn Relays, he set the high school boy's mile meet record at 4:04.47.
