Northeastern High School (often abbreviated NHS) is a public school located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, in the United States. It was founded in 1969, replacing Elizabeth City High School, P.W. Moore High School, and Central High School. Northeastern's mascot is the Eagle. Its school colors are green and gold. It is one of two high schools in Pasquotank County; the other is Pasquotank County High School. Student demographics As of 2005, the student body was composed of approximately 435 males and 420 females with a racial dynamic of 49% African American, 47.8% Caucasian, 0.7% Asian, 1.4% Hispanic, and 1.1% multi-racial. Of the school's 855 students, 12.0% were identified academically gifted while 11.9% were identified exceptional. Enrollment Northeastern High School served an average of 855 students during the 2003–04 school year. Pasquotank County High School is a school in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Elizabeth City, Pasquotank County, North Carolina, USA. PCHS's mascot is the Cougar, Panther. Its school colors are navy blue and silver. It is one of three high schools in the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools system; the other (sometimes considered a rival) is Northeastern High School (North Carolina), Northeastern High School. Salisbury High School is a public, co-educational secondary school located in Salisbury, North Carolina. It is one of seven high schools in the Rowan–Salisbury School System. History Salisbury High School began in 1904 and was among the earliest public high schools in North Carolina. The current location was completed in 1926 and named Boyden High School in honor of Colonel Archibald Henderson Boyden, an educator who was then Mayor of Salisbury. It is one of many schools built across North Carolina in the early 20th century. The building was designed by C. Gadsen Sayre and built by L. S. Starmount is a predominantly residential neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Located along South Boulevard, it is between Sharon Road West and Emerywood Drive, with the Little Sugar Creek its eastern border. Consisting of nearly 1,400 homes, it is one of the largest established neighborhoods and is known for its ranch-style or split-level brick bungalow homes. History Starmount was constructed during the early 1960s by Ervin Construction Company. Phase One of construction took place primarily from Starbrook Drive south to Sherbourne, then spread north towards Archdale Drive at Phase Two. Kenny Williams (basketball, Born 1969)
Kenneth Ray Williams (born June 9, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player, most notably with the National Basketball Association's Indiana Pacers. He was known for his stellar leaping ability and off-court problems. Biography Williams, a 6' 9" forward, was a prep sensation at Elizabeth City (N.C.) Northeastern High School. His sophomore year, he averaged over 20 points and 12 rebounds a game. He played in the Hampton Roads Basketball Classic in Norfolk, scoring 42 points, and winning the MVP award over the likes of Alonzo Mourning, JR Reid, and Dennis Scott. He was named first team AP All-State. Prior to his junior year, he transferred to Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, where he averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds for a 29-0 team.
