North West Hendricks School Corporation is a public school district for the townships of Middle, Union, and Eel River in Hendricks County, Indiana. North West Hendricks School Corporation has operated as a school district since July 1, 1965. The reported enrollment of the NWHSC during the 2015-2016 school year was 1,886. The district has a total land area of 98.4 square miles. In 2011 the district's ISTEP scores increased even further moving it from the 5th ranked school district in the state to the 4th highest ranked school district in the state. Pittsboro High School
Pittsboro High School was a public high school in Pittsboro, Indiana. The school mascot was the Burro and the school colors were red and black. Currently, the elementary school and primary school in town still have the same mascot and colors today. History In 1894, the high school was established, meeting upstairs in the Junken Building. In 1913, the school was built at the cost of around $23,000, containing both the grade school and high school. Four high school students graduated in 1914. In 1919, a gym was added on to the school by the local citizens. Due to overcrowding, the new high school was built in 1921 on North Meridian, costing $70,000. The new building was built next to the 1913 building. When the new high school was completed, the old building housed grades 1-7 and the new building contained grades 8–12. Pittsboro is a town in Middle Township, Hendricks County, Indiana, United States. The population was 2,928 at the 2010 Census, up from 1,588 at the 2000 census. By 2018 the estimated population was 3,480. History The town of Pittsboro was founded on December 9, 1834, by Simon T. Hadley and Wiliam L. Matlock. The town was named "Pittsborough" in honor of Hadley's home in North Carolina. The spelling was later changed to "Pittsboro". On April 6, 1906, an election was held for incorporation of the town. The result of the election was 83 favorable and 38 opposed. After incorporation came many infrastructure improvements and new services. Lizton is a town in Union Township, Hendricks County, Indiana, United States. The population was 488 at the 2010 Census. It is one of the three towns ( Pittsboro and North Salem being the other two) that make up North West Hendricks School Corporation.
