North Queensland Razorbacks
The North Queensland Razorbacks FC was a football (soccer) club which plays out of Townsville in North Queensland. They played in the Queensland State League. They were considered to be one of two feeder clubs for A-League team North Queensland Fury before its demise in 2011. History The club has had reasonable success in the last few years. Before the North Queensland Fury were inducted into the A-League in 2009 the Razorbacks were the sole football team in Townsville and therefore got reasonable crowds in for their home games. However they have become the main feeder club for the Fury. They play their home games at the Murray Sports Reserve and normally play their games on Field 1. In turn the Fury have loaned out several players, including Jacob Timpano to the Razorbacks to gain gametime during the A-League offseason. Townsville is a city on the north-eastern coast of Queensland, Australia. Queensland State League (association Football)
The Queensland State League, often abbreviated to the QSL, was a men's semi-professional soccer league in the Australian state of Queensland. The league was created by the state's governing body, Football Queensland, in 2008, to fill the gap between the national league (A-League) and the various city and regional leagues in the State. It was replaced in 2013 by the National Premier League Queensland as part of a wider introduction of the National Premier Leagues across the Australian soccer league system. A-League Men (known as the Isuzu UTE A-League for sponsorship reasons) is the highest-level professional men's soccer league in Australia and New Zealand. At the top of the Australian league system, it is the country's premier men's competition for the sport. Northern Fury Football Club was an Australian professional soccer club based in Townsville, Queensland. The club was founded in 2008 and competed in the A-League under the name North Queensland Fury. On 1 March 2011, the club was removed from the league due to financial instability. On 3 October 2012, the club officially re-formed after it was granted a licence to participate in the National Premier League Queensland. 2009–10 A-League
The 2009–10 A-League was the 33rd season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the fifth season of the A-League competition since its establishment in 2004. The season marked the addition of two new teams from Queensland. Gold Coast United FC and the North Queensland Fury FC made their A-League debuts at the start of the season. Because of this, Queensland Roar were renamed to Brisbane Roar, as they were no longer the only A-League club from Queensland. Jacob Timpano
Jacob Timpano (born 3 January 1986) in Wollongong, Australia) is a former Australian footballer and current head coach of Wollongong Wolves in the National Premier Leagues NSW. Club career Timpano previously played for the Wollongong Wolves in the National Soccer League. He is a central defender, and has represented Australia at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship and captained Australia in the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship as an Under-20 and Under-17 respectively. In the 2005-06 A-League season, Timpano was an essential part of Sydney FC championship-winning side - playing in 19 of the club's 24 games. Gareth Edds
Gareth James Edds (born 3 February 1981) is an Australian former professional footballer who played as a defender or midfielder. He was last employed as the head coach at Northern Fury in 2013. Club career Edds started his career in 1999 with English team Nottingham Forest after going through the AIS system in Australia. At Forest he scored once against Grimsby Town in 16 league appearances. He left for Swindon Town in the summer of 2002. However, he only played one season for Swindon before moving to Bradford City, where he again stayed for just one season.
