North Queensland Fury FC
Northern Fury Football Club was an Australian professional association football, soccer club based in Townsville, Queensland. The club was founded in 2008 and competed in the A-League under the name North Queensland Fury. On 1 March 2011, the club was removed from the league due to financial instability. On 3 October 2012, the club officially re-formed after it was granted a licence to participate in the National Premier League Queensland. After rebranding themselves as "North Queensland United" in 2017, the club disbanded a second time at the end of the 2018 Football Queensland season. The club played their home fixtures at Townsville Sports Reserve. The World Game
''The World Game'' was an Australian football (soccer) television show broadcast on the SBS network, as well as a dedicated associated website. The show debuted in 2001 and was the only Australian TV programme dedicated to both football news and issues within Australia as well as around the world. David Williams (Australian Association Footballer)
David Joel Williams (born 26 February 1988) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Perth Glory. Williams is the first Indigenous Australian player to play for A-League club Melbourne City. He also represented Australia's national team twice. Born in Brisbane, Williams played youth football at the Queensland Academy of Sport before making his professional debut for Queensland Roar. Shane Stefanutto
Shane Stefanutto (born 12 January 1980) is an Australian former professional footballer who is the Technical Director of Brisbane Roar. He previously played for Brisbane Strikers, Lillestrøm, Lyn, North Queensland Fury, Brisbane Roar, Olympic FC and Australian national team. Club career Stefanutto trained at the Queensland Academy of Sport before playing for the Brisbane Strikers in the defunct National Soccer League from 1998 to 2004, before transferring Lillestrøm in Norway. On 26 August 2007, Stefanutto scored his first goal for LSK in his 112th match, against Aalesund. The goal came from a long-range free kick. His contract with Lillestrøm expired at the end of the 2007 season, and he played for Lyn Oslo in the 2008 season, before signing for North Queensland Fury on 5 August 2009. Frank Farina
Frank Farina OAM (born 5 September 1964) is an Australian football (soccer) coach and former player who played as a forward. His playing career spanned Australia, Belgium, France, Italy and England, and was a major player for the Australian National Team in the late 1980s and 1990s, as well as managing the national team in the early 2000s. He was the first Indigenous Australian to manage the national team. he is a member of the inaugural National Indigenous Advisory Group of Football Australia. Cairns FC, previously known as FNQ FC Heat, was an Australian semi-professional Association football, soccer club based in the regional city of Cairns, in the Far North Queensland, far north of Queensland. Gareth Edds
Gareth James Edds (born 3 February 1981) is an Australian former professional footballer who played as a defender or midfielder. He was last employed as the head coach at Northern Fury in 2013. Club career Edds started his career in 1999 with English team Nottingham Forest after going through the AIS system in Australia. At Forest he scored once against Grimsby Town in 16 league appearances. He left for Swindon Town in the summer of 2002. However, he only played one season for Swindon before moving to Bradford City, where he again stayed for just one season.
