North Maclean is a locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , North Maclean had a population of 1,536 people. Geography North Maclean is on the Mount Lindesay Highway with the Logan River as part of its eastern and southern boundary. South Maclean is immediately to the south of North Maclean. The western boundary of North Maclean is marked by the Sydney–Brisbane rail corridor. History North and South Maclean were once a single district originally known as ''Logan Bridge'', as there was a low-level bridge across the Logan River at this location since 1860. The district later acquired the name ''Maclean'', probably after Alexander Grant McLean, the acting Surveyor General of New South Wales from 1856—1861. Logan City is a local government area situated within the south of the Brisbane metropolitan area in South East Queensland, Australia. Situated between the City of Brisbane to the north and the City of Gold Coast to the south, the City also borders the Scenic Rim Region, the City of Ipswich, and Redland City LGAs. Alexander Grant McLean
Alexander Grant McLean (1824 – 28 September 1862) was a Surveyor General of New South Wales, (then a colony, now a state of Australia). Early life McLean was born in Scotland, the second son of Captain John Leyburn Maclean, principal superintendent of convicts (1837–55), and his wife Jane Eliza, née Grant. He and arrived in Sydney, Australia with his family in the ''Earl Durham'' on 31 August 1837. Career in Australia On 11 May 1842, McLean was appointed to a position on the department of the Surveyor General of New South Wales, Thomas Mitchell. McLean was appointed chief draftsman in 1856. Patrick Logan
Captain Patrick Logan (1791 – October 1830) was the commandant of the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement from 1826 until his death in 1830 at the hands of Aboriginal Australians who objected to him entering their lands. As he had been hated by convicts, there were rumours that escaped convicts living in the bush had attacked him, but there is no evidence of this. Born in East Renton, Berwickshire, Scotland, he was the youngest son of a Scottish landowner and farmer, Abraham Logan and Janet Johnstown. Geography Jimboomba is situated on the Mount Lindesay Highway, by road south-east of Logan Central and by road south of Brisbane central business district.
