North Lakewood, Washington
North Lakewood is a neighborhood in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is located west of Arlington, east of Lake Goodwin, and north of the Tulalip Indian Reservation. North Lakewood is considered part of greater Smokey Point. Name Called "Lakewood" since the turn of the 20th century, the name was changed after the Pierce County community of the same name incorporated into the City of Lakewood in 1996. This soon created confusion with mail service, as there were now two communities sharing the name. To alleviate this problem, in 1998 the United States Postal Service granted the Pierce County community the rights to use "Lakewood, Washington", since it was now an incorporated city, and changed the Snohomish County community's name to "North Lakewood", which was unincorporated at the time. ''The News Tribune'' is an American daily newspaper based in Tacoma, Washington. It is the second-largest daily newspaper in the state of Washington with a weekday circulation of 30,945 in 2020. Tulalip Indian Reservation
The Tulalip Tribes of Washington (, lut, dxʷlilap), formerly known as the Tulalip Tribes of the Tulalip Reservation, is a federally recognized tribe of Duwamish, Snohomish, Snoqualmie, Skagit, Suiattle, Samish, and Stillaguamish people. They are South and Central Coast Salish peoples of indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. Their tribes are located in the mid-Puget Sound region of Washington. In November 2002, John McCoy, a Tulalip leader, was elected to the Washington State legislature, retired in April 2020. North Marysville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The majority of the community and its 20,000 residents were annexed into the city of Marysville in 2009. The population was 108 at the 2010 census. Geography North Marysville is located at (48.096777, -122.155135). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), all of it land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 21,161 people, 7,031 households, and 5,744 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,539.6 people per square mile (594.6/km2). Silvana is a rural community and census-designated place (CDP) in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. Its population was 90 at the 2010 census. Geography Silvana is located on an island in the Stillaguamish River floodplain. The main channel of the river passes to the north of the island, while South Slough to the southwest and Cook Slough to the southeast also form the general boundaries of the community. Interstate 5 (I-5) is an Interstate Highway on the West Coast of the United States that serves as the region's primary north–south route. State Route 531 (Washington)
State Route 531 (SR 531) is a short state highway in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It runs from west to east along 172nd Street between Wenberg County Park on Lake Goodwin to a junction with SR 9 in southern Arlington, with an intermediate interchange with Interstate 5 (I-5) in Smokey Point. The highway is the primary access point for the Arlington Municipal Airport and the Smokey Point retail corridor. SR 531 was created by the state legislature in 1991, using existing roads that were built in the early 20th century. Retail and housing development in the Smokey Point area triggered several expansion projects in the 1990s and 2000s to accommodate growing traffic volumes. Lakewood High School (commonly known as Lakewood or LHS) is a public secondary school in what was Arlington, but annexed to become an addition of Marysville, Washington, serving students in grades 9– 12. The school is the only secondary school in the Lakewood School District, serving the Lake Goodwin, North Lakewood, and Smokey Point areas. The original high school was built in 1983 and expanded in later years to accommodate a growing school population. A $66.8 million bond measure was passed in April 2014 to design and build a new high school on the same campus, with a capacity of 825 students. Construction began in May 2016.
