North Cape, South Australia
__NOTOC__ North Cape is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on the north coast of Kangaroo Island overlooking Investigator Strait about south-west of the state capital of Adelaide and about north of the municipal seat of Kingscote. Its boundaries were created in March 2002 for the “long established name” which was derived from the most northerly headland on the coastline. North Cape occupies land bounded by Investigator Strait to the north and by Nepean Bay and its subsidiary, the Bay of Shoals, to the east and the south-east respectively. Its coastline includes features such as Point Marsden and Cape Rouge. Emu Bay, South Australia
Emu Bay (known as Maxwell from 1882 to 1941) is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia on the north coast of Kangaroo Island located about south-west of the state capital of Adelaide and about located about west of the municipal seat of Kingscote. It is a small town of 97 allotments with an even mix of permanent and holiday homes. The town has no shops or mains water supply. Emu Bay is known as a popular swimming beach, and is one of few on Kangaroo Island where vehicles are permitted. A small jetty dates to 1918. Originally long, it allowed ketches such as ''Karatta'' to tie up to load cargoes, while a nearby fresh water well serviced horses which pulled wagons down to the bay. Mawson is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It covers the entirety of Kangaroo Island, and parts of the local government areas of Alexandrina Council, the City of Onkaparinga, and the District Council of Yankalilla. Agriculture or farming is the practice of cultivating plants and livestock. Nature conservation is the moral philosophy and conservation movement focused on protecting species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services, and protecting biological diversity. Point Marsden
Point Marsden (also called Marsden Point) is a headland located on the north coast of Kangaroo Island in South Australia. It was named after William Marsden, Second Secretary to the Admiralty by Matthew Flinders in 1802. It is the western extremity of Nepean Bay and has been the site of a navigation aid since 1915.
