North Beach Sea Eagles Rugby League Football Club is an Australian rugby league football club based in North Beach, Western Australia formed in the early 1950s.They conduct teams for Juniors, Seniors and also Women's League Tag. North Beach, Western Australia
North Beach is a northern coastal suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia from Perth's central business district via Mitchell Freeway and Reid Highway. Its local government area is the City of Stirling. History The name North Beach began as a descriptive name, derived from the suburb being at the time the most northerly of Perth's beaches. It was assigned in 1888 when surveyor Charles Crossland referred to the pastoral leases of Samuel Richard Hamersley as his "north beach coastal run". The area originally formed part of the Hamersley Estate, which also included the suburbs now known as Carine, North Beach and Hamersley. These areas were owned by the Hamersley family, who arrived from Europe to settle in the Swan River Colony in 1837 and built a summer home, called "The Castle" in 1865, where their large family as well as the Perth elite congregated for summer holidays. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Belmore, a suburb in the Canterbury-Bankstown region of Sydney. They compete in the NRL Telstra Premiership, as well as competitions facilitated by the New South Wales Rugby League, including the Canterbury Cup NSW, the Jersey Flegg Cup, Harvey Norman Women's Premiership, Tarsha Gale Cup, S. The state was represented at national level by the Western Reds/Perth Reds, but they were not included in the new National Rugby League in 1998 following the Super League war. The Western Reds were a rugby league football club based in Perth, Western Australia. Founded in 1992 as the Western Reds, they entered into the Australian Rugby League competition in 1995 before defecting to the rival Super League competition in 1997, where they rebranded themselves as the Perth Reds. However, by the end of the year the Reds had become a casualty of the Super League War peace deal and were shut down. The name Reds was named after the native Red Kangaroos. The St. George Illawarra Dragons is an Australian professional rugby league football club, representing both the Illawarra and St George regions of New South Wales. The club has competed in the National Rugby League since 1999 after a joint-venture was formed between the St. George Dragons (est. 1921) and the Illawarra Steelers (est. 1982). Daniel Holdsworth (rugby League)
Daniel Holdsworth (born 27 April 1984) is an Australian former professional rugby league five-eighth who played in the 2000s and 2010s. Background Born in the northern New South Wales town, Tweed Heads, Holdsworth moved to Perth in Western Australia at an early age. In Perth, Holdsworth played all his junior rugby league for the North Beach Sea Eagles in the Perth Rugby League competition. Holdsworth represented Western Australia at the Under 15 and Under 18 age groups. Career Holdsworth spent two years in the Penrith Panthers' lower grades, before signing with the St George Illawarra Dragons for the 2004 season. He made his NRL début while at the club and played 6 games in two seasons, before joining Canterbury, where he would play 70 games between 2006 and 2009.
