NorthPointe Christian Schools is a private Christian school located on the North East side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. History NorthPointe Christian Schools was founded as Grand Rapids Baptist Academy in 1972, with 90 students Kindergarten through 8th grade attending. In the spring of 1973, 19 acres of property was purchased on Leonard Street, where an 18,000 square foot building was constructed by Visser Brothers Construction. The Leonard Street campus opened in September of 1973, with 280 students in attendance from Kindergarten through 10th grade. Burlsworth Trophy
The Burlsworth Trophy is an award given annually to the most outstanding FBS college football player who began his career as a walk-on. It was first awarded for the 2010 season and is a program of the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation. Burlsworth walked on to the Arkansas Razorbacks football program in 1994 and became an All-American. Kenny Willekes (born July 22, 1997) is an American football defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Michigan State. Early years Willekes attended NorthPointe Christian High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He played linebacker and running back in high school. Chad David Curtis (born November 6, 1968) is an American former professional baseball outfielder and convicted sex offender. Curtis played major league baseball from 1992 to 2001 for the California Angels, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, and Texas Rangers.
