Norman Fisher (public Servant)
Norman William Frederick Fisher (5 September 193619 February 1997) was a senior Australian public servant in Canberra. Fisher held many positions in the Australian Public Service, including Foundation Director, Bureau of Labour Market Research (1980); Director, Department of Employment and Industrial Relations (1982); Deputy Commissioner, Public Service Board (1986); Director, ACT Institute of Technical and Further Education 1988–1993; and again from 1993 until his retirement in 1997. He was founding Director of the Australian International Hotel School. Awards and honours Fisher was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia on 9 June 1986 "in recognition of service in the fields of labour market research and public administration". Bill Wood (politician)
Bill Wood (born 4 November 1935) is an Australian politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland and later the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly. He was elected to the Queensland Parliament as the Labor member for Cook in 1969, transferring in 1972 to the new seat of Barron River. He was defeated in 1974 by Country Party candidate Martin Tenni. Roberta McRae (born 6 September 1948 in Italy), former Australian politician, was a member of the unicameral Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly from 1992 to 1998, elected to the multi-member single constituency Assembly and later elected to represent the multi-member electorate of Ginninderra for the Labor Party. Michael John Moore (born 2 April 1950) is a public health leader, academic and former Australian politician. He was an independent member of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly for four terms, from 1989 to 2001. He served as Australia's first independent minister as Minister for Health and Community Care from 1998 to 2001 in the Liberal minority government led by Chief Minister, Kate Carnell and later, Gary Humphries. William George Stefaniak (born 8 January 1952) is an Australian politician and former Australian Capital Territory Minister. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Australian Capital Territory after succeeding in a leadership challenge against then-leader Brendan Smyth on 16 May 2006. He is a former Major in the Australian Army Reserve and a law graduate of the Australian National University. On 13 December 2007, he was replaced as Liberal Leader by Zed Seselja. Stefaniak contested the 2020 Australian Capital Territory General Election as leader of the Belco Party but was not elected. Anne Katherine Carnell (née Knowlman; born 30 May 1955) is an Australian businesswoman and former Liberal Party politician, who served as the third Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) from 1995 to 2000. Early life and pharmacy career Carnell was born on 30 May 1955, in Brisbane, Queensland. Her parents owned a small accounting business. As a teenager she struggled with anorexia and was sent away to recover at Sydney Hospital. She battled the illness for four years. Bruce is a suburb of the Belconnen district of Canberra, that is located within the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The suburb was gazetted on 6 June 1968 and named for The Viscount Bruce of Melbourne (1883–1967), the eighth Prime Minister of Australia and the first Chancellor of the Australian National University.
