Norman Briski
Norman Briski (born January 2, 1938) is an Argentine theatre actor, director and playwright, as well as a cinema and television actor. Life and work Naum Normando Briski was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, in 1938. His Jewish Argentine family relocated to Córdoba, where Briski developed an interest in acting and where, in 1955, he was given his first stage role in ''La Farsa del señor Corregidor.'' He continued his work in the theatre and in time earned leading parts in plays such as ''Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead'' and '' The Mother''. He was given his first cinema role, a part in Ricardo Alventosa's comedy, ''Cómo seducir a una mujer'' (''How to Seduce a Woman''), in 1967. Remaining active in the local theatre, Briski established an independent theatre company, "Octubre," in the early 1970s, and devoted its repertoire to the production of classics banned in Argentina at the time (such as '' Oedipus Rex''). Alejandro Agresti (born June 2, 1961, in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine film director, writer and producer. ''The Plague'' (original title: ''La Peste'') is a 1992 Argentine-French-British drama film written and directed by Luis Puenzo and starring William Hurt, Sandrine Bonnaire, Robert Duvall and Raul Julia. It is based on the novel '' La Peste'' by Albert Camus. It entered the competition at the 49th Venice International Film Festival. Plot Set in the 1990s (Camus's novel was set in 1940s), 'The Plague' tells the story of Dr. Bernard Rieux. The film takes place in the city of Oran, where several cases of plague have been recorded. At first, the authorities want to hide the disease from the population, but the news ends up reaching the citizens. Luis Adalberto Puenzo (born 19 February 1946) is an Argentine film director, producer and screenplay writer. He works mainly in the cinema of Argentina, but has also worked in the United States. Biography Puenzo was born in Buenos Aires in 1946. He began a successful career in 1965 producing television advertising spots in Argentina. He founded Luis Puenzo Cinema, a production company, with Sergio Tamburri (film editor and trombone player of the famous Porteña Jazz Band); the firm's name was changed to Cinemanía S.A. in 1974. During Argentina's Civic-military dictatorship of Argentina in the mid 1970s and early 1980s many filmmakers became victims of repression and some went into exile; some disappeared. A biographical film or biopic () is a film that dramatizes the life of a non-fictional or historically-based person or people. Such films show the life of a historical person and the central character's real name is used. They differ from docudrama films and historical drama films in that they attempt to comprehensively tell a single person's life story or at least the most historically important years of their lives. Charly García
Charly García (born Carlos Alberto García, October 23, 1951) is an Argentine singer-songwriter, musician and record producer. He formed and headlined two of the most popular bands in Argentina's rock history: Sui Generis in the 1970s and Serú Girán in the 1980s, plus cult status groups like progressive-rock act La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros and folk rock supergroup PorSuiGieco, both also in the 1970s. Television is one of the major mass media of Argentina. As of 2019, household ownership of television sets in the country is 99%, with the majority of households usually having two sets. Cable television has become the most used type of delivering, with 73.2% of households having a cable provider.
