Norma Hernandez
Norma Hernandez (born 1990/1991) is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 77th district. Elected in November 2022, she assumed office on January 11, 2023. Hernandez is a member of the Democratic Party. Early life and education Hernandez was born and raised in Melrose Park, Illinois. Her grandfather had immigrated to the area from Jalisco in the 1960s as part of the Bracero Program. Both of her parents worked manufacturing jobs, and her father was a union member for almost 30 years. Hernandez is a Catholic. Hernandez graduated from Proviso East High School in Maywood before obtaining an Associate of Arts degree from Triton College in 2013. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in social work from Aurora University in 2016 and her Master of Arts in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in 2019. Kathleen Willis (born 1962) is the Illinois state representative for the 77th district. The 77th district includes all or parts of Addison, Bellwood, Bensenville, Franklin Park, Maywood, Melrose Park, Northlake, Stone Park, and Wood Dale. The State Board of Elections (SBE) is an independent agency of the U.S. state of Illinois. The SBE, as an acronym, refers both to the eight-member bipartisan board of directors and to the agency that it oversees. The members of the SBE, who are appointed by the Governor of Illinois, in turn appoint an executive director who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the agency. The agency is headquartered in the state capital of Springfield, with a second headquarters in Chicago. United Working Families (UWF) is an independent political organization based in Chicago, Chicago, Illinois. Jesús G. "Chuy" García (born April 12, 1956) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Illinois's 4th district since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he served on the Cook County Board of Commissioners, as well as in the Illinois Senate and on the Chicago City Council before his election to Congress.
