Norm Benning Racing
Norm Benning Racing is an American professional stock car racing team that currently competes part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The team is owned by Norm Benning, who drives the No. 6 Chevrolet Silverado. History Norm Benning Racing opened in 1993, DNQ'ing all attempts by team owner Norm Benning in Cup competition. Benning began fielding the No. 8 and 84 car in the ARCA Menards Series, ARCA Racing Series in 1995 for himself and other drivers. Benning ran the team in four Nationwide races from 2003–2004. The team's most successful series has been the Truck Series, after successfully making 7 of the 8 races they attempted in 2008. The team ran the full Truck season making 24 of the 25 races and finishing 21st in points. Benning once again attempted the Daytona 500 in 2010 but failed to qualify. Norm Benning Jr. (born January 16, 1952) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 6 Chevrolet Silverado for his team, Norm Benning Racing. He has worked as a driver analyst for TheRacingExperts.com in the past. Benning has often been referred to as Stormin' Norman after his performance in the 2013 Mudsummer Classic, the Truck Series' first race on dirt. He previously competed in the NASCAR Busch Series and Winston Cup Series. Early career Born in Level Green, Pennsylvania, Benning began by racing as a 15-year-old at Heidelberg Raceway even though he was supposed to be at least 18 years old. Texas Motor Speedway is a speedway located in the northernmost portion of the U.S. city of Fort Worth, Texas – the portion located in Denton County, Texas. The Henry Ford Health System 200 was a NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race that took place at Michigan International Speedway. The event was started in 1999 and was won by Greg Biffle. In 2001 Michigan did not hold a Truck race because of date conflicts with the CART event which it had been associated. The 2004 race marked the first win for Toyota in a national NASCAR series when Travis Kvapil won for Bang! Racing. The race was removed from the 2021 schedule. The SpeedyCash.com 250 is an annual NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race held at the Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth, Texas. The race is currently held on the same weekend as the IndyCar Series race at the track, the PPG 375 and is a standalone race for the Truck Series (no other NASCAR series have races at the track that weekend). History The race was originally a standalone race for NASCAR in the month of June that shared a weekend with the track's IndyCar Series race, the Genesys 600. In 2021, the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series' spring race weekend at Texas, usually in late March or early-to-mid-April, was removed from the schedule and both series joined the Truck Series on the June weekend. The Ohio 250 was a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race that was held at Mansfield Motorsports Park on Memorial Day weekend between 2004 and 2008. History The 2006 race saw 18 caution flags flown during the race, setting a series record. Dennis Setzer won the 2007 race without making a fuel stop, which took place with a 22-gallon fuel cell. This race took over seven hours to run due to three rain delays and was the final Craftsman Truck Series victory for Spears Motorsports, who ceased operations following the 2007 season. The Heart of America 200 is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race held at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. Since 2020, the race has been 134 laps and long. The San Bernardino County 200 is a discontinued NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race held at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. It was first held in 1997, the year Auto Club Speedway opened, and last held in 2009.
