Nordkraft (Aalborg)
Nordkraft is a cultural centre in the Danish city of Aalborg. Opened in 2009, it is located in a former electricity generating station close to the waterfront in an area designated for cultural development. Neighbouring buildings include the Utzon Center and Musikkens Hus. Nordkraft is home to several cultural institutions including Skråen, a venue for jazz and rock concerts, Teater Nordkraft, the Biffen Art Cinema, the Kunsthal Nord art gallery and Dreamhouse, an innovative creation facility. Narvik Energi is a power company that serves Narvik in Norway. It operates seven hydroelectric power stations and Nygårdsfjellet wind farm. The company is owned by the City of Narvik (50.01%), DONG Energy (33.33%) and HelgelandsKraft (16.66%). Total annual average production is 950 GWh. Operations The company operates the power stations of Nygård, Håkvikelva, Sildvik, Sørfjord I, Sørfjord II, Sirkevann and Taraldsvik. The power grid is through the Narvik Energinett, that is owned 49% by HelgelandsKraft. Aalborg
Aalborg (, , ) is Denmark's fourth largest town (behind Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Odense) with a population of 119,862 (1 July 2022) in the town proper and an urban population of 143,598 (1 July 2022). Utzon Center
The Utzon Center in Aalborg, Denmark, was the last building to be designed by Jørn Utzon, the architect behind the Sydney Opera House. In collaboration with his son Kim, who provided the final construction drawings, he planned the centre not as a museum but as a place where students of architecture could meet and discuss their ideas for the future. Located on the Limfjord waterfront in the city where Utzon spent his childhood, the building was completed in 2008, the year Utzon died. Background Jørn Utzon grew up in Aalborg, a harbour city in the north of Jutland. Musikkens Hus
Musikkens Hus (House of Music) is a venue in Aalborg, Denmark. It is located at Musikkens Plads (Music Square) by the Limfjord in the new cultural center area of the city. Opened in March 2014, the building contains a concert hall and practice rooms for the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and The Royal Academy of Music. Additional tenants include Orchestra Norden, as well as two of Aalborg University's fine arts divisions, Institute of Music and Danish JazzCenter. The building features a solar-passive design and faces the riverfront. The educational rooms are constructed in a U shape around the central concert hall.
