Nordic Combined At The 2006 Winter Olympics – Sprint
The Men's sprint Nordic combined competition for the 2006 Winter Olympics was held in Pragelato, Italy. It took place on 21 February. Results Ski Jumping Forty-nine athletes entered the ski jumping portion of the sprint; each made one jump, which was judged in the same fashion as the Olympic ski jumping competition. The scores for these jumps were used to calculate the deficit with which each athlete began the cross-country portion of the event. Each one point behind the leading score of Georg Hettich was equivalent to four seconds of time deficit. Cross-Country The start for the 7.5 kilometre race was staggered, with a one-point deficit in the ski jump portion resulting in a four second deficit in starting the cross-country course. Pragelato (also ''Pragelà''; Vivaro-Alpine: ''Prajalats'', French: Prajalats) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about west of Turin, in the upper Val Chisone. Ronny Ackermann
Ronny Ackermann (; born 16 May 1977 in Bad Salzungen, Bezirk Suhl) is a German former Nordic combined skier. Ackermann started to learn to ski when he was five years old and took up ski-jumping two years later. As of 2004, he belongs to the team of Rhöner WSV Dermbach. His many successes include winning the Nordic combined World Cup in 2002, 2003 and 2008. Ackermann found success in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, winning ten medals, including four golds (15 km individual: 2003, 2005, 2007; 7.5 km sprint: 2005), five silvers (7.5 km sprint: 2003, 4 x 5 km team: 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009), and a bronze (7.5 km sprint: 2001.) Seppi Hurschler (born June 23, 1983 in Stans) is a Swiss Nordic combined skier who has competed since 2001. Competing in three Winter Olympics, he earned his best finish of ninth in the 4 x 5 km team event at Vancouver in 2010 while earning his best individual finish of 22nd in the 15 km individual at Turin in 2006. Ivan Rieder (born December 3, 1976 in Thun, Canton of Bern) is a retired Swiss Nordic combined skier who has been competing since 1999. Björn Kircheisen (also spelled Bjoern; born 6 August 1983 in Erlabrunn) is a German former nordic combined skier. Todd Lodwick
Todd Lodwick (born November 21, 1976) is an American Nordic combined skier. He competed at the 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014 Olympics and won a team silver medal in 2010. His best individual result was fourth place in 2010, when he finished 0.7 seconds behind the third place in the individual normal hill/10 km event. Competing in three Winter Olympics, he earned his best finish of sixth twice (7.5 km sprint event: 2002, 4 x 5 km team: 2006). Hannu Kalevi Manninen (born 17 April 1978 in Rovaniemi) is a Finnish nordic combined athlete. Debuting at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer at the age of 15, he took his first medal three years later at the age of 18 when he won silver in the 4 × 5 km team event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
