Norberto Alonso
Norberto Osvaldo Alonso (born 4 January 1953), known colloquially as "Beto" Alonso, is an Argentine former football midfielder, who played the majority of his career for the Argentine club River Plate, where he won 9 titles. He remains one of their most notable players. He stands in fifth place in River Plate's all time goalscoring records with 149 goals and 7th place in their all time appearances record with 374 matches played. A former Copa Libertadores, Intercontinental Cup and FIFA World Cup champion, Alonso was regularly regarded as one of the best South American players in the world during the 1970s. Carlos Daniel Tapia (born 20 August 1962 in San Miguel, Buenos Aires) is a retired Argentine footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Career Tapia started playing professional football for Argentine club River Plate in 1981, when then coach Alfredo Di Stéfano named him for the first team, replacing football legend Norberto Alonso. In 1985, he would move to River's hated rivals Boca Juniors. He was a member of the Argentine squad that won the 1986 World Cup, though he played only a few minutes during the tournament. He replaced Jorge Burruchaga in the match against England and hit the post with his shot. He is one of the two Boca players to win the title, the other being Julio Olarticoechea. Ramón Ángel Díaz (born 29 August 1959) is a former Argentine Association football, footballer and the current manager of Saudi Professional League club Al Hilal SFC, Al Hilal. Leopoldo Jacinto Luque (; (3 May 1949 – 15 February 2021) was an Argentine footballer who played as a striker. Club career In a career spanning from 1972 to 1984 he played for Unión de Santa Fe, Rosario Central, River Plate, Racing Club de Avellaneda and Chacarita Juniors. On 22 February 1976, Luque scored all five goals in a game in which his team, River Plate, defeated San Lorenzo de Almagro 5–1. International career With Argentina he was 1978 World Champion, scoring four goals in the tournament, including a spectacular long distance volley against France during the first round. Metropolitano Championship
The Metropolitano championship ("Campeonato Metropolitano") was an Argentine football tournament which existed between 1967 and 1984. The Metropolitano formed one half of the Primera División, taking place in the first half of the year, while the Nacional championship ("Campeonato Nacional") took place in the 2nd half of the year. This arrangement lasted until 1982 when they were reversed. The Metropolitano and Nacional were abandoned to make way for European style seasons beginning in 1985–1986. Reinaldo Carlos Merlo (born 20 May 1950) is an Argentine football coach and former player, who played as a midfielder. Playing career Known as ''Mostaza'' (mustard) because of his off-blond hair, Merlo played his entire career for Club Atlético River Plate as a defensive midfielder. He was part of the midfield that conquered a string of championships under coach Ángel Labruna between 1975 and 1981, the others being Juan José López and Norberto Alonso. Merlo was, together with goalkeeper Ubaldo Fillol and defender Daniel Passarella, the backbone of that team. Carlos Manuel Morete Markov (born 14 January 1952), commonly known as Carlos Morete, is a retired Argentine football striker. He was born in the city of Munro in Greater Buenos Aires, and is one of the few players to have played for and won titles with Argentina's three biggest clubs: River Plate, Boca Juniors and Independiente.
