Norah Stoner
Norah Jane Stoner (April 20, 1945) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. She was a Ontario Liberal Party, Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1987 to 1990. Background Stoner worked as a commercial artist before entering political life. Politics Stoner was a member of the Pickering, Ontario, Pickering Council from 1977 to 1983, and of the Durham Regional Municipality, Durham Regional Council from 1983 to 1987. David Robert Peterson (born December 28, 1943) is a Canadian lawyer and former politician who served as the 20th premier of Ontario from 1985 to 1990. The 1987 Ontario general election was held on September 10, 1987, to elect members of the 34th Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The governing Ontario Liberal Party, led by Premier David Peterson, was returned to power with their first majority government in half a century, and the second-largest majority government in the province's history. Peterson had successfully managed to govern with a minority in the Legislature by obtaining the co-operation of the Ontario New Democratic Party, led by Bob Rae, in a confidence and supply agreement. George Lyle Ashe (October 5, 1932 – August 3, 2014) was a Canadian politician based in Ontario. He was a Progressive Conservative Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1977 to 1987 who represented the Durham region riding of Durham West. He served as a cabinet minister in the governments of Bill Davis and Frank Miller. Background Ashe was born in Ottawa, Ontario, and educated in that city.
