Nor Burastan Cemetery ( hy, Թեհրանի Նոր Բուրաստան Գերեզմանատուն) (also known as the Christian Armenian Burastan Cemetery) is the major Armenian cemetery located in southeast of Tehran. It was established in 1974 and has a chapel by the name of St. Stephen ( hy). Alenush Terian
Ālenush Teriān ( hy, Ալենուշ Տէրեան; fa, آلنوش طریان; also: آلنوش تریان; November 9, 1921 – March 4, 2011) was an Iranian-Armenian astronomer and physicist and is called 'Mother of Modern Iranian Astronomy'. Early life She was born on November 9, 1921 to an Armenian family in Tehran, Iran. Her father, ''Arto'', was a stage director, poet and translator (with the pen name ''Arizad'' meaning ''Born to Aryan'') who had translated Shahnameh, from Persian to Armenian. Her mother, Varto Terian, was a stage actress and director. Education Teriān graduated in 1947 in the Science Department of University of Tehran. She began her career in the physics laboratory of this university and was elected the chief of laboratory operations in the same year. She signed for scholarship to study in France but Dr. Hesabi didn't accept it. He believed it's already enough for a woman to study this much. Levon Davidian ( hy, Լեւոն Դաւթեան; fa, لئون داویدیان, 24 March 1944 in Hamadan – 15 July 2009), an Iranian-Armenian politician, was an Iranian parliament member. He was a psychiatrist and professor of university. He died when Caspian Airlines Flight 7908 Caspian Airlines Flight 7908 was a scheduled commercial flight from Tehran, Iran, to Yerevan, Armenia, that crashed near the village of Jannatabad, outside the city of Qazvin in north-western Iran, on 15 July 2009.
