Noosaville is a town and suburb in Noosa in the Shire of Noosa, Queensland, Australia. In the , Noosaville had a population of 8,124 people. Geography Noosaville is bounded by the Noosa River to the north, Weyba Creek to the east, the shoreline of Lake Weyba (the lake being within the suburb). Lake Weyba is in the south-east of the suburb () and is . ''Weyba'' is believed to mean ''place of stingrays'' or ''place of flying squirrels''. The land in the north of the locality near the river is predominantly residential including the Noosa Waters canal estate (). The southern part of the suburb including Lake Webya is undeveloped, apart from Noosa Aerodrome (), the only commercial airstrip in the Shire of Noosa. Noosa River
The Noosa River is a river situated in South East Queensland. The catchment starts in the Como Escarpment near Mount Elliott in the coastal Great Sandy National Park and meanders south through a lakes district around Tewantin. Lakes situated on the river include Lake Cooloola, Lake Como, Lake Cootharaba, Lake Cooroibah and Lake Weyba. The catchment is mostly covered by sand dunes and has two major tributaries—Kin Kin Creek and Teewah Creek. The Noosa River enters the Coral Sea between Noosa Heads and Noosa North Shore. Substantial residential development has encroached into areas previously occupied by the changing river path. The river is noted for its populations of migratory birdlife. Kabi Kabi, also spelt Gabi-Gabi/Gubbi Gubbi, is a language of Queensland in Australia, formerly spoken by the Kabi Kabi people of South-east Queensland. The main dialect, Kabi Kabi, is extinct, but there are still 24 people with knowledge of the Butchulla dialect (also spelt Batjala, Batyala, Badjala, and variants), a language spoken by the Butchulla people of Fraser Island. Noosa Civic is a shopping centre located in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Major stores include Woolworths and Big W and the centre includes over 8,000 square metres of specialty retail stores. The development commenced construction in 2005 and stage one, consisting of 30,000 square metres of retail and commercial development in four precincts was opened in October 2006. Some controversy occurred to opponents of the development, complaining the development was approved on rare ecological wildlands and that a large-scale shopping centre detracted from what they claimed were Noosa's village-type ideals of local community.
