Noor Mohammad Nooruddin
Syedna Noor Mohammed Nooruddin ( ar, نور محمد نور الدين) was the 37th al-Dai al-Mutlaq (vicegerent) of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, a subsect of Shia Islam. Early life Noor Mohammad Nooruddin was born in Jamnagar in the era of his great-grandfather, the 34th Dai Syedna Ismail Badruddin I bin Mulla Raj. Syedna Zakiuddin nurtured Syedna Nooruddin and brought him up. Syedna Nooruddin served his grandfather Abduttayyeb Zakiuddin II with devotion, especially in his last illness. Before Syedna Zakiuddin died in 1110 AH/1699 AD, he bestowed Syedna Nooruddin his ring, “indicating his future accession to the rutba of Dai al-Mutlaq”. Nooruddin served his father, Musa Kalimuddin, with devotion, and aided him in conducting the Dawat. Kalimuddin entrusted him with executing all the affairs of Dawat, appointed him in the rutba of Mazoon, and made him also his Mansoos. List Of Dai Of Dawoodi Bohra
Short history The Dua't al-Mutlaqin Al-Malika al-Sayyida (Hurratul-Malika) was instructed and prepared by Imām Mustansir and following Imāms for the second period of ''satr''. It was going to be on her hands that Imām Taiyab abi al-Qasim would go into seclusion, and she would institute the office of Da'i al-Mutlaq. Syedna Zoeb bin Moosa was first to be instituted to this office, and the line of Taiyabi Dā'ĩs that began in 1132 has passed from one Dā'ī to another, continuing to the present time. One of the sects which follows these Fatimid Dā'īs is the Dawoodi Bohra dawat. Until the 23rd Dā'ī, the center of the dawat was in Yemen. The 23rd Dā'ī, Syedna Mohammed Ezzuddin designated Syedna Yusuf Najmuddin ibn Sulaiman in Sidhpur, Gujarat, India, as his successor. Mufaddal Saifuddin
Mufaddal Saifuddin () is the spiritual leader and 53rd Da'i al-Mutlaq of one million Dawoodi Bohras, a subgroup of the Tayyibi, Mustaali, Ismaili Shia branch of Islam. He is the second son of the 52nd Da'i al-Mutlaq, Mohammed Burhanuddin, whom he succeeded in 2014. Saifuddin has led a number of cultural, social, and economic initiatives. In Islamic Cairo, he rebuilt shrines of the Ahl al-Bayt and led the restoration of medieval Fatimid architecture, notably Al-Anwar Mosque, Al-Aqmar Mosque, Al-Juyushi Mosque, and Lulua Mosque. In Yemen, he has spearheaded several campaigns to improve socio-economic conditions of the inhabitants of the Haraaz region, introducing sustainable agricultural systems, improving local infrastructure and providing equal access to education for children. Mohammed Burhanuddin
Mohammed Burhanuddin (6 March 1915 – 17 January 2014) was the 52nd Dā'ī al-Mutlaq of Dawoodi Bohras. He led the community for 49 years in a period of social, economic, and educational prosperity; strengthened and re-institutionalized the fundamental core of the community's faith; revived its culture, tradition, and heritage. In successfully achieving coexistence of traditional Islamic values and modern Western practices within the community, Burhanuddin completed the work his predecessor Taher Saifuddin had started. Burhanuddin was presented the highest national civilian honors of the states of Egypt and Jordan recognising his revivalism and restoration efforts. He was known in Arab countries as ''Azamat us-Sultan'' (). Owing to extensive travels for community reach-out, he was the first ''Dā'ī al-Mutlaq'' to visit Europe, Australia, and America. Wankaner is a city and a municipality in Morbi district in the State of Gujarat. Until 2013, Wankaner was part of the Rajkot district. Etymology The city was named after its location on the Machhu River, "Wankaner" translating to "riverbend" ("Wanka" - bend, " -ner" - river) in Gujarati. Geography Wankaner is located at . Ibrahim Wajiuddin
Syedna Ibrahim Wajihuddin Bin Syedi AbdulQadir Hakimuddin (died on 17 Moharram 1168 AH/1756 AD, Ujjain, India) was the 39th Dā'ī of the Dawoodi Bohras. He succeeded the 38th Dā'ī Syedna Ismail Badruddin II to the religious post. Life Syedna Ibrahim was born in 1690. He procured his initial education from his father, Syedi AbdulQadir Hakimuddin. At the young age of twenty-one, Syedna Vajihuddin was sent by his father for the ''Khidmat'' (service) of the Dai. He served Syedna Musa Kalimuddin and Syedna Noor Mohammed Nooruddin in the most adverse of times. In 1143H, Ujjain was affected by a severe drought. Followers of different religions prayed for rain but in vain. Syedna Vajihuddin along with the Mumineen (faithful) proceeded to the banks of river Sipra and prayed to Allah for rain.
