Noor Jehan (film)
''Noor Jehan'' is a 1967 Bollywood film produced by Sheikh Mukhtar and directed by Mohammed Sadiq. It featured Meena Kumari, Pradeep Kumar, Helen and Lalita Pawar in lead characters. The film is fictional depiction of life of Nur Jahan, the twentieth (and last) wife of the Mughal emperor Jahangir. Roshan was the music director. Sheikh Mukhtar
Sheikh Mukhtar was the son of Chaudhry Ashfaq Ahmed (who was a railway police inspector and born in Karachi, British India; now Pakistan) Chaudhary Ashfaq Ahmed intentionally got transferred and migrated to Delhi. Sheikh Mukhtar was born on 24 December 1914 in Delhi. He had spent his childhood in Gali choodi waalan (Near Jama Mosque, Delhi-110006) and took education from Anglo Arabic School, Ajmeri Gate, Delhi-11006. His father wanted his son to join the Police or Army on a higher rank, but Sheikh Mukhtar was keenly interested in theatre. One of his acquaintances from his area started working in a theatre company, so Sheikh Mukhtar also moved to Kolkata and joined the company. Badruddin Jamaluddin Kazi (11 November 1924 – 29 July 2003), better known by his stage name Johnny Walker, was an Indian actor who acted in around 300 films. He was best known for his humorous roles in Indian films, notably being typecasted as a hapless drunkard. Early life When his father lost his job, the family moved to Mumbai. Sohrab Merwanji Modi (2 November 1897 – 28 January 1984) was an Indian stage and film actor, director and producer. Hamid Ali Murad (24 September 1911 – 24 April 1997) known simply as Murad was an Indian character actor who appeared in more than 100 Hindi language films from the early 1940s through to the end of the 1980s, playing character roles of a father, police officer, judge and an emperor.
