Non Comprehendus
''Non-Comprehendus'' is the debut album from the South Australian rock band Testeagles, which was released on 27 February 2000. Note: on-line version has been updated from print edition. It reached No. 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart. It provided two singles, "Turn that Shit Up" (July 1999), which reached No. 54 on the ARIA Singles Chart, and "Underdog" (October). The album was produced by Paul McKercher (You Am I, Spiderbait) with mixing by American producer-engineer, Ulrich Wild (Prong, Pantera, White Zombie, Grinspoon). Australian musicologist Ian McFarlane described the album as, "a heavy-duty mix of alterna-metal riff-rock, squalling sound effects, experimental electronic beats and samples, he albumwas certainly the most visceral album to chart in the Australian Top 10 since the likes of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson." Testeagles
Testeagles, sometimes referred to as "TEs", were a three-piece rock band which formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 1994. The group is made up of brothers Matthew "Matty" Matt (lead guitar and lead vocals) and Adrian "Ady" Matt (drums), alongside Dave "D" Paisawa (bass guitar and vocals). D joined the lineup in 1999, replacing their original bass guitarist, Dean. The group have a handful of official releases to their name, the first being the ''Chum'' EP released in 1995, which was followed by the ''B-Sting'' and ''Friends'' EPs in 1998, their first tracks to secure them Triple J airplay. In 1999, the group released singles "Turn That Shit Up" and "Underdog" from their debut album, '' Non Comprehendus''. ''Non Comprehendus'' was released in February 2000 and peaked at No.8 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Allen & Unwin
George Allen & Unwin was a British publishing company formed in 1911 when Sir Stanley Unwin purchased a controlling interest in George Allen & Co. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting music of Australia, Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Ulrich Wild is an American record producer, engineer and mixer specializing in the rock and metal genres. Born and raised in Switzerland, Ulrich is now a naturalized citizen in the United States, living in Los Angeles, California. St Leonards, New South Wales
St Leonards is a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. St Leonards is located north-west of the Sydney central business district and lies across the local government areas of Municipality of Lane Cove, North Sydney Council and the City of Willoughby. ''The Encyclopedia of Australian Rock and Pop'' or ''Rock and Pop'' by Australian music journalist Ian McFarlane is a guide to Australian popular music from the 1950s to the late 1990s. The book has a similar title to the 1978 work by Noel McGrath, ''Australian Encyclopaedia of Rock and Pop'', but is not otherwise related. Publishers, Allen & Unwin described McFarlane's encyclopedia as containing over 870 entries and an "essential reference to the bands and artists who molded the shape of Australian popular music ..in an A-to-Z encyclopedia format complete with biographical and historical details.
