Non-high School District
A Non-high school district is an American form of public school district which does not itself provide a high school, but instead reimburses nearby public districts with high schools for the education of students in the non-high district. At least two states in the United States — Illinois and Washington — still have districts designated as non-high school districts. East Bernstadt Independent School District
East Bernstadt Independent School District is a school district in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. It operates a K-8 school. Its divisions are East Bernstadt Elementary School and East Bernstadt Middle School. Vicki Jones is the district Superintendent. Sending/receiving Relationship
A sending/receiving relationship is one in which a public school district sends some or all of its students to attend the schools of another district. This is often done to achieve costs savings in smaller districts or continues after districts have grown as part of a historical relationship. The term is used in primary and secondary education in the states of New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania in the United States, although the concept exists in other states. At times, the sending district may be granted representation on the receiving district's board of education. On the receiving district's board of education, the sending representative usually votes ''only'' on issues pertaining to the students received and district-wide issues. This is mainly to save money for the township and citizens who have to pay taxes for the school. Fort Thomas Highlands High School, also known as Fort Thomas Highlands, is a public secondary school located in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Operated by Fort Thomas Independent Schools, Highlands was founded in 1888. The school took its name from the original name of Fort Thomas, "The Highlands". Southgate is a home rule-class city in Campbell County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 3,803 at the 2010 census. History The city of Southgate is named for the family of Richard Southgate. Born in New York City, Richard Southgate went to Newport from Richmond, Virginia in 1795. In October 1797, he was licensed to practice law in the court of Kentucky and appointed Commonwealth Attorney for Campbell County in 1798. Southgate Independent Schools
Southgate Independent Schools is a school district located in Southgate, Campbell County, Kentucky. It is one of four Kentucky school districts that does not operate a high school, only serving students through eighth grade. The Southgate district has reciprocal agreements with multiple Northern Kentucky districts to allow its students to attend high school in those districts. A 2015 report by the Legislative Research Commission, the research arm of the Kentucky General Assembly, indicated that a majority of Southgate high school students then attended Highlands High School in the Fort Thomas district, and a large minority attended Newport High School in that city's district.
