Nomi Kaplan
Nomi Kaplan (born December 7, 1933) is a Lithuanian-Canadian photographer and artist. She was the daughter of Bernard and Ndia Kaplan, she was born at Memel in Lithuania and then moved to Ontario with her family in 1940. Kaplan settled in Vancouver in 1955. She acquired her education from Wayne State University, at the University of British Columbia and the Vancouver School of Art. She has taken post-graduate courses in art, photography, film and video production. Kaplan taught photography at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design from 1991 to 1994. In 1972, she helped organize the first Women's Film Festival in Vancouver. She was a co-founder of the ReelFeelings collective which produced the film ''So Where's My Prince Already?'', which screened at the 1973 New York Women's Film Festival. Klaipėda
Klaipėda (; ; german: Memel; pl, Kłajpeda; russian: Клайпеда; sgs, Klaipieda) is a city in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea coast. The capital of the eponymous county, it is the third largest city and the only major seaport in Lithuania. The city has a complex recorded history, partially due to the combined regional importance of the usually ice-free Port of Klaipėda at the mouth of the river . The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is an art museum in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The museum occupies a building at Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton. The museum building was originally designed by Donald G. Bittorf, and B. James Wensley, although portions of that structure were demolished or built over during a redevelopment of the building by Randall Stout. The art museum was established in 1924 as the Edmonton Museum of Arts. In 1956 the museum was renamed the Edmonton Art Gallery. The museum occupied a number of location from its establishment in 1924 to 1969. The Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG) is an art museum in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Its permanent collection includes over 24,000 works from Canadian, Indigenous Canadian, and international artists. The Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography (CMCP) (french: Le Musée canadien de la photographie contemporaine (MCPC)) was a gallery of Canadian contemporary art and documentary photography. Founded in 1985 and affiliated to the National Gallery of Canada (NGC), it was housed at the National Gallery of Canada, located at 380 Sussex Drive, Ottawa. The CMCP did not have a permanent home until it moved to its purpose-built site at 1 Rideau Canal in 1992.
