Nomaris Vélez
Nomaris Vélez Agosto (born June 11, 1993) is a Puerto Rican volleyball player. She plays as a libero for the San Diego Mojo. Career In 2019 she made her international debut for the Puerto Rico women's national volleyball team during the Volleyball Challenger Cup qualifiers, where she was awarded the prize for best libero. She competed at the 2019 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup. In 2022, she won the bronze medal at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup, and at the 2022 Norceca Pan American Cup Final Six. She competed at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. In 2024, she played in the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation season as a member of the San Diego Mojo. Pro Volleyball Federation
The Pro Volleyball Federation is a women's professional indoor volleyball league in the United States. The league was announced on November 17, 2022. History The Pro Volleyball Federation was announced in November 2022 as a new professional women's league that focused on giving American players access to high level volleyball at home while also making a livable wage. The founders of the league include Super Bowl winning quarterback Trent Dilfer along with volleyball pioneers Cecile Reynaud and Laurie Corbelli. The league was initially expected to include 10 teams but the league would lower the number to 8 in later reports. The first franchise was awarded to a group that will bring a team to Grand Rapids, Michigan. In February 2023, it was announced that singer-songwriter Jason Derulo would team up to own a team that will be based out of Omaha, Nebraska. 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup
The 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup was the third edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup, an annual women's international volleyball tournament contested by eight national teams that acts as a qualifier for the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League. The tournament was held at Krešimir Ćosić Hall in Zadar, Croatia, between 28 and 31 July 2022. Croatia won the title, defeating Belgium in the final, and earned the right to participate in the 2023 Nations League replacing Belgium, the last placed challenger team in the 2022 edition. Puerto Rico defeated Colombia in the 3rd place match. Qualification A total of eight teams qualified for the tournament. The 2019 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 18th edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament. It was held in Trujillo and Chiclayo, Peru from 6 to 14 July.
