Nolan Frese (born July 29, 1992) is an American football long snapper who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Houston. Early life Nolan Frese was born in Fullerton but was raised in Roanoke, Texas and attended Keller High School before attending University of Houston. Professional career Frese signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on June 28, 2016 for a 3 year $1.62 million dollar contract. He beat out Clint Gresham and Drew Ferris for the Seattle Seahawks long snapping spot. Long Snapper
In American football, the long snapper (or deep snapper) is a center on special teams whose duty is to snap the football over a longer distance, typically around 15 yards during punts, and 7–8 yards during field goals and extra point attempts. Overview During field goal and point after touchdown attempts, the snap is received by the holder, typically 7–8 yards away. During punts, the snap is delivered to the punter from 13–15 yards away. Following a punt snap, the snapper often executes a blocking assignment and then must cover the kick by running downfield and attempting to stop the opposing team's punt returner from advancing the ball in the opposite direction. If the punt goes uncaught, it is the snapper's responsibility to make sure the ball does not enter the end zone or bounce backward resulting in loss of yards. Clint Gresham
Clint Gresham (born August 24, 1986) is a former American football long snapper. Early life Clint Gresham was born to Jim Gresham and Martha Booe on August 24, 1986. Gresham attended W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas until his graduation in 2005. College career He attended the University of Oklahoma, as a preferred walk-on, but ultimately transferred to TCU, graduating in 2009. While at TCU, Gresham majored in entrepreneurial management with a minor in communications. Professional career Gresham was the only long snapper invited to the 2010 NFL Draft. However, he was not selected in the draft, and signed as an undrafted free agent for the 2010 season by the New Orleans Saints, Gresham was picked up on waivers by the Seattle Seahawks on August 1, 2010.
