Nokia 7110
The Nokia 7110 is a GSM mobile phone announced in February 1999 and released in October 1999. It was the first mobile phone to run Series 40 and to come with a WAP browser. It was preceded by the Nokia 8146/8148 which was released in 1996 and it was replaced by the Nokia 7650 which was released in Late 2001. Variants The Nokia 71** series of mobile phones in general featured a special, "navi-roller", a pushable scroll wheel button for quicker scrolling and selection. Circuit Switched Data
In communications, Circuit Switched Data (CSD) is the original form of data transmission developed for the time-division multiple access (TDMA)-based mobile phone systems like Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM). After 2010 many telecommunication carriers dropped support for CSD, and CSD has been superseded by GPRS and EDGE (E-GPRS). Technical CSD uses a single radio time slot to deliver 9.6 kbit/s data transmission to the GSM network switching subsystem where it could be connected through the equivalent of a normal modem to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), allowing direct calls to any dial-up service. For backwards compatibility, the IS-95 standard also supports CDMA Circuit Switched Data. The Nokia 3210 is a GSM cellular phone, announced by Nokia on 18 March 1999. Design The 3210 was designed by Alastair Curtis in Nokia's Los Angeles Design Center. The development was led by Frank Nuovo, who had designed the sleek and curvy Nokia 8110 in 1996. The team wanted to create an "expressive" and personalisable handset beyond the usual business-oriented mobile phone market, inspired by the Casio G-Shock and Sony Walkman designs. Predictive text is an input technology used where one key or button represents many letters, such as on the Telephone keypad, numeric keypads of mobile phones and in accessibility technologies. T9 is a predictive text technology for mobile phones (specifically those that contain a Telephone keypad, 3×4 numeric keypad), originally developed by Tegic, Tegic Communications, now part of Nuance Communications. T9 stands for ''Text on 9 keys.''
