Alan Peter Roberts (born 1982), known professionally as Jim Noir, is an English singer-songwriter from Davyhulme, Greater Manchester. He has released five albums to date: 2005's '' Tower of Love'', 2008's self-titled LP ''Jim Noir'', 2012's '' Jimmy's Show'', 2014's ''Finnish Line'', and 2019's ''A.M. Jazz'', as well as a number of EPs. Biography Noir's stage name is in homage to Vic Reeves, whose real name is Jim Moir. His early releases, including ''Tower of Love'' as well as all of the preceding EPs, were self-recorded at his parents' home in Davyhulme, Manchester. Ricardo Daniel Noir Meyer (born 26 February 1987 in Villa Elisa, Entre Ríos) is an Argentine footballer, who plays as a forward for Uruguayan club Paysandú FC. Career Noir worked with his father before trialling for the Youth Divisions of Boca Juniors in 2003 and getting selected. He made his professional debut on 17 May 2008 coming on as a substitute in a game against Racing Club, he scored the winning goal in the 5th minute of added time. ''Homestuck'' is an Internet fiction series created by American author and artist Andrew Hussie in the first half of the 2010s. The fourth and best-known of Hussie's four ''MS Paint Adventures'', it originally ran from April 13, 2009 to April 13, 2016. Though normally described as a webcomic, and partly constituted by a series of single panel pages, ''Homestuck'' also relied heavily on Flash animations and instant message logs to convey its story, along with occasional use of browser games. Its plot centers on a group of teens who unwittingly bring about the end of the world by installing the beta version of an upcoming computer game, Sburb. The teens soon come into contact with a group of Internet trolls who are revealed to be horned aliens, and these trolls work with the kids to create a new universe by completing the game. Guy Noir is a Fictional character, fictional private investigator, private detective regularly featured on the public radio show ''A Prairie Home Companion''. Voiced by Garrison Keillor, the character parodies the conventions of hardboiled fiction and the film noir genre. Guy Noir works on the twelfth floor of the Acme Building in a city that "knows how to keep its secrets", St. Paul, Minnesota. Exploits The first Guy Noir segments aired in 1995 and were heavy on tongue-twisters, alliteration and other wordplay. In early episodes of the series, Guy and his "friend" Pete (Walter Bobbie) would often get into fights and end up shooting each other. Both died many times. However, following Bobbie's departure as a show regular, Pete appears to have died off for good.
