Noir (Blue Sky Black Death Album)
''Noir'' (stylized as ''NOIR'') is a studio album by American hip hop production duo Blue Sky Black Death. It was released on Fake Four Inc. in 2011. Release ''Noir'' was originally released on Fake Four Inc. on April 26, 2011. Screwed versions of several of the tracks were released on Blue Sky Black Death's Bandcamp, as ''Noir + Violet''. Later, the group also released a deluxe digital reissue of the album, titled ''Noir Dlxe'', which includes the screwed versions, four alternate tracks from the original ''Noir'' release, and three more tracks, for a total of 29 tracks at a length of more than 2 hours. In 2013, a limited-run two-disc vinyl pressing was done, featuring the original track listing, two alternates, as well as a previously unreleased track, "Thirteen", which does not appear on the deluxe digital release. Blue Sky Black Death
Blue Sky Black Death (abbreviated BSBD) was a production duo based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It consisted of Ryan Maguire, better known by his stage name Kingston, and Ian Taggart, better known by his stage name Young God, or, later, Televangel. They are known principally for their hip hop and instrumental music, made with a mixture of live instrumentation and sampling. Their name is "a skydiving phrase alluding to beauty and death." History Kingston and Young God met and began collaborating on music in 2003. Young God, working under the name Rev. Left, began creating beats to rap over, but abandoned rapping and started producing exclusively around 2000. Fake Four Inc
Fake Four is an independent record label based in New Haven, Connecticut. It was founded by brothers Ceschi and David Ramos in 2008. According to an interview with Ceschi on Ugsmag.com, the Ramos brothers started Fake Four with help from Grimm Image Records in San Bernardino, California and Squids Eye Recording Collective in Dayton, Ohio as an outlet to release and distribute their personal music projects and those of their friends. Since the initial release ''This Up Here'' by David Ramos, Fake Four Inc. has been a self-sufficient label. Style Fake Four Inc. does not adhere to genre specifications. ''Glaciers'' is a studio album by American hip hop production duo Blue Sky Black Death. It was released by Fake Four Inc. in 2013. The chopped and screwed version of the album, titled ''Glaciers Melted'', was released in 2014. Production Most songs of the album have runtimes over 10 minutes; the idea derives from a 13-minute song the duo made back in 2012. The album was almost entirely created using the ACID Pro 2.0 software. It features guest appearances from Child Actor, Lotte Kestner, and JMSN. The cover was designed by tattoo artist MxM (Maxime Büchi). Critical reception Michael Scala of ''Prefix'' called it Blue Sky Black Death's "most grandiose, cumulative opus". Martin Chavez Dosh (born September 6, 1972), better known mononymously as Dosh, is a multi-instrumentalist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Style Dosh is principally a percussionist who usually adds a Rhodes piano to his kit and uses other electronic devices such as samplers and looping pedals. He has been characterized as experimental/electronica due to his use of signal-altering devices in performance to allow him to create live solo performances using keyboards, tuned percussion, and drums.
