Paul "Livewire" Lloyd (born 7 December 1968 in Bebington, Wirral) is an English amateur bantamweight and professional bantam/super bantamweight boxer of the 1990s and 2000s. Lloyd, as an amateur, won the 1990 Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE) bantamweight title against Michael Gibbons, Michael Alldis, Wilson Docherty, and Patrick Mullings ( Harrow & District ABC). Lloyd participated in the World Cup in Bombay, India, during November 1990, defeating Rico Maspaitela of Indonesia and losing to Enrique Carrión of Cuba. He participated in the trials for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Halle, Germany, defeating Shaun Anderson of Scotland and losing to Dieter Berg of Germany. Bernard Dunne (born 6 February 1980) is an Irish former professional boxer and a former WBA (Regular), and European Super Bantamweight champion. On Saturday 21 March 2009, Dunne defeated Ricardo Cordoba in the 11th round to become the WBA (Regular) super bantamweight champion in a fight that won ESPN's 2009 Fight of The Year with 6 knockdowns occurring in the fight between the two fighters (4 for Dunne and 2 for Cordoba). Super bantamweight, also known as junior featherweight, is a weight class in professional boxing, contested from and up to . There were attempts by boxing promoters in the 1920s to establish this weight class, but few sanctioning organizations or state athletic commissions would recognize it. Jack Wolf won recognition as champion when he beat Joe Lynch at Madison Square Garden on September 21, 1922, but afterwards the weight division fell into disuse.
