Noel Scarlett
Noel Scarlett (born January 21, 1974September 1, 2021) was a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League for the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the Scottish Claymores in NFL Europe. He played college football at Langston University. Early years Scarlett attended Elbert County High School, where he was a two-way lineman. As a junior, he received All-area and Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super Senior honors. As a senior, he didn't play football because of trouble with the law. He worked for 2 years in a produce plant making his way up to a supervisor's role, before accepting a football scholarship from NAIA Langston University. As a sophomore he was named a starter at defensive tackle, tallying 40 tackles (6 for loss) and 2 sacks. As a junior, he posted 40 tackles and 6 sacks. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans are a professional American football team based in Nashville, Tennessee. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. World Bowl 2000 (also referred to as World Bowl VIII) was the eighth championship game of the NFL Europe League. It was held at Waldstadion in Frankfurt, Germany on June 25, 2000. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. 1999 NFL Season
The 1999 NFL season was the 80th regular season of the National Football League. The Cleveland Browns returned to the field for the first time since the 1995 season, while the Tennessee Oilers changed their name to "Tennessee Titans," with the league retiring the name "Oilers." The 1999 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 17–18, 1999, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season.
