Noel Ratcliffe
Noel Anthony Ratcliffe (born 17 January 1945) is an Australian professional golfer. Ratcliffe turned to golf exceptionally late for a future professional, and didn't own a set of clubs until he was twenty-one. He studied pharmacy and worked for an insurance company and in public service before turning professional in 1974. Like many Australian golfers of his era, he divided his time between the PGA Tour of Australia and the European Tour. In his regular career he won three titles in Australasia and two in Europe, where his best year was 1978 when he finished 11th on the Order of Merit. Since turning fifty he has been successful on the European Seniors Tour, where he topped the Order of Merit in 2000, made the top five on four other occasions, and won eight tournaments. He was the second man to win over one million Euro on the tour. South Australian Open (golf)
The South Australian Open was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Nationwide Tour. History The event started in 1933 as the South Australian Close Championship. In 1950 it was renamed the South Australian Open, although it was only in 1952 that it was opened up to players from outside the state. In the late 1960s, there was no sponsor for the tournament. Therefore "only local club professionals competed." In 1975 there was a similar problem. The South Australian Brewing Company did not renew its sponsorship. Due to economic trouble in the country no other companies were willing to sponsor the event. The event did not take place that year. The event was retitled the Jacob's Creek Open Championship from 2002 to 2007, sponsored by the Jacob's Creek wine brand, and was co-sanctioned during that period by the United States-based Nationwide Tour. Denis O'Sullivan (golfer)
Denis O'Sullivan (born 11 March 1948) is a retired professional Irish golfer. He won the 1985 Irish Amateur Close and the 1990 Irish Amateur Stroke Play, but did not turn professional until 1997, when he decided to try to qualify for the European Seniors Tour. He came through the European Seniors Tour Qualifying School at his first attempt and became one of the tour's most consistent players. He has won six seniors events and finished in the top ten on the Order of Merit several times, with a best ranking of third in 2000. Maurice Bembridge
Maurice Bembridge (born 21 February 1945) is an English golfer. He won the 1969 News of the World Match Play, the 1971 Dunlop Masters and won six times on the European Tour from its formation in 1972. He also won tournaments around the world, including the Kenya Open three times. He played in the Ryder Cup four successive times from 1969 to 1975 and represented England twice in the World Cup. At the 1974 Masters Tournament, Bembridge tied the course record with a 64 in the final round, lifting him into a tie for 9th place. Professional career Bembridge turned professional at an early age in 1960 and was an assistant at Worksop Golf Club. David Creamer
David Creamer (born 9 December 1942) is a former international table tennis player and professional golfer from England. Table tennis career Creamer represented England at the 1963 World Table Tennis Championships in the Swaythling Cup (men's team event) with Chester Barnes, Ian Harrison and Bryan Merrett. He also won an English National title in 1964, in the doubles with Johnny Leach. Golf career Creamer turned professional in 1966. Until he reached 50, Creamer played little top-level golf, although he qualified for the 1980 Open Championship at Muirfield where he missed the cut. He played regularly on the European Senior Tour from 1993 to 2007, competing in over 200 events. He was twice in the top 10 of the money list, in 1997 and 2000. Creamer won once, the Energis Senior Masters at Wentworth in 2000.
